iphone making random calls

My iphone is making repeated calls to people in my address book. This is not pocket dialing. Today I left the phone on a window sill and it made multiple calls (10 or more to some contacts) to multiple contacts in a 20 minute period. Also does this while in the lock mode.

Has anyone else seen this and found a solution?

My iphone 5 did this last year and I took it to an Apple store. It called people, sent text messages, the camera would flash taking a picture, etc. They said it was a known problem related to the screen. It only happened at night when it was on a table, face down. They charged me over $100 to replace the screen. Everything was fine until this week, when it started texting at random again.

If it is a known problem with their screens, we should not have to pay to replace the screen. It was not damaged or anything else wrong with the phone.

try this

go to settings>general>reset > and reset network settings

then

go to settings> phone> and make sure call forwarding is not on and calls on other devices is off

It happened to my phone due to water damage. Resetting the phone to factory settings solved the problem as suggested by Apple when took it to get it repaired.
