Dead pixels? Anyone?

I just got my iPad a few days ago and love it a great deal.

However last night I noticed a single dead (black) pixel near the center of the screen.

Is this unusual? Should I take it an apple store and get it replaced or just learn to live with it?

I appreciate the feedback!

If the above suggestions do not work, try holding it upside down above your head and giving it a few shakes, sometimes that dust just never settles back just right.

But seriously, I am worried what the screen will be like 3-4 years down the road. My original iPhone started to get a line of dead pixels a year after I had it, now there are two nice lines and spots. Thankfully I don't really read on it much, annoying in some games though.

My 60GB iPod Video (about 5 years old) just a few months ago started to get sime dead lines as well, and my mom's iPhone 3G got a few spots about a year after she had hers. Yet my iMac is flawless 4 years later.

I just got my first iPhone and it has a big black dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. I bought it on eBay, so have mailed seller (no reply yet).

I phoned Apple Australia, and the guy said that 1 dead pixel in the middle of the screen is NOT acceptable, especially straight out of the box. He told me that if the seller does not get back to me in time then to contact Apple again and they will take 'further action'. I therefore do not think that anybody has to put up with this sort of issue: if somebody tells you just to put up with it then ignore them.
