iPad WiFi and Verizon MiFi Hotspot

I started using the Verizon MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot with my 32GB iPad today. Works like a charm. I used it with my iPad, Windows 7 netbook and iTouch simultaneously. I authorized it on the Windows 7 machine. I need to try to install Verizon Manager on my MacBooks and authorize it for them so that I can use it untethered and off the MiFi's battery.

I have exactly the same problem as Nielson. My MiFI2200 works just fine. It's activated.

I can connect through it to the Internet from my Windows PC and from my SCH-i760 smart phone.

The iPad WiFi connects to it, but Safari can't get to any website, including the MiFi's own 192.168.1.1 website.

As a test, I switched my Mac Mini from Charter cable wifi to the MiFI220. E-mail is good but Safari 5 is very slow...some pages not wanting to load. Firefox however is much more responsive. You might want to try Google Chrome for an even faster experience. Remember, the MiFI220 is essentially a cell phone. It is going to be slow on more demanding devices.

You should note that signal strength (number of bars) is not necessarily an indicator of transmission speed. You may be getting a strong signal but very slow transmission, and therefore slow or no response on your Web browser. You might want to download the Speedtest app to check this out.

Can you download GPS software while connected to the MIfi? i am trying to use it in car as a GPS unit on my iPad that does does not have 3G.

Did you ever come up with solution? My iPad 3 running iOS 5.1.1 was working with my MiFi card fine. Then I upgraded to iOS 6 and it connects to the card but won't go all the way to the Internet..

iOS 6 is currently in an early beta stage. It may not work completely. You should be posting this in the Developer Forums, to which, as a developer, you have access. Discussion of beta software isn't permitted in the public forums due to the NDAs you sign as a developer.
