iPad WiFi in UK.

Much of the discussion here has centered on U.S. users wifi problems. But some iPads must by now have reached these UK shores - so any UK experiences anyone ?

Good, bad, or indifferent ?

Everything is all good mate. Had mine 2 weeks, I'm on Sky's top package which is pretty slow anyway, will be transferring to virgin's 50meg in July. I use a Time Capsule as a router, so connection is good, and I've got a big house and can take all around it and the connection stays strong.

Hope this helps.

Hi Dan - Thanks for that. Having played around with various settings, what seems to work is:

1. Go to Settings / Safari
2. Turn off autofill
3. Set Block Pop-ups to OFF
4. Set Accept Cookies to ALWAYS

This seems to work fine but, even so, it's a bit odd because the settings on my iPhone (and which is able to connect) are: Autofill 'on', Block Pop-ups 'on' and Accept Cookies 'from sites visited'...

And everything I've written applies to one branch of Starbucks, using the BT Openzone network. I'll see what happens elsewhere...

Hopefully this will get clarified/sorted sometime soon!

Thanks again.

I am having this problem too with my iPad. It's been working fine on the home network for two weeks and now for some reason can't access the internet. Router is fine, several other devices on it. It's assigning an IP address starting 169 to the iPad and no DNS or router address.

I've rebooted, done a firmware update, logged onto another free wireless service to check the iPad is working, renewed the lease, everything I could think of and that Apple support suggested.

How do I set up a static IP address on it to get round this problem? If I enter in static info it just defaults to the DHCP info again. I'm pulling my hair out over this one.
