AT&T Error Q5033

Anybody else coming across this error/timeout? I finally found an address I could use to get signed up for 3G but it gave me this error before the process completed. Now when I hit "view account" it thinks for a while and says "AT&T is unable to process your request. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please try again later (Q5033).

It's been a few hours now. Same message every time. Anyone else experience this and have a solution?

Hey, it's working for me now!

I got my call back form AT&T, and we tried a few more things to no avail, and they said it was just matter of waiting.

We agreed I'd call back if it wasn't working by tomorrow, and 15 minutes later I noticed it's working.

Actually, I was looking in the About screen and I noticed the phone number AT&T had said they had assigned me was now showing up there, and when I went to safari, I was able to open up a web site.

Because I don't know what changed, I'd suggest calling AT&T and ask them to verify you've got a number assigned to your device, they can search by email address. Then explain the situation and ask if there's anything they can do to help.

I was just wondering... I have the same problem as everyone else on this thread. Even had Apple Call me and support rep only could say the servers are busy. Well for many of you and me its been almost 24hr and others have had no problems in getting an account. Does anyone at apple look at these discussions. It would be nice if they did and and least give some advice or indicate that they understand the problem...

3 hours on the phone today and no luck. Have the same error for the last 24 hours. They made me restore the Ipad, pull the sim etc. They have a phone number for me in the system but it does not show up on my Ipad. Out of luck and nobody at Apple or ATT has any clue how to fix this. I have a 10 day trip starting 6AM Monday morning and no 3G.....

having the same problem out here in california. the 3g is not working and i don't have a telephone number, hence it would have been nice if apple told people they needed one. i have tried numerous times to view account and it won't work. it could bee that att is too busy and overburdened. if anyone has a quick fix, that would be nice cause i have tried everything from rebooting network , to rebooting ipad to calling. its still gives the q5033 message!

I don't know if this will help but I was having exactly the same problem so I stopped by an AT&T store(the second one that day) and was lucky enough to be helped by two computer geeks who were happy to see the iPad for the first time. After 20 minutes and several attempts to activate the 3G feature, hard resets, changing SIM card, etc. we all concluded that the Wi-Fi probably had something to do with it so we turned it off and reset the network - SUCCESS! It appeared in my case that the iPad was attempting to lock unto Wi-Fi rather than an AT&T signal.

I've tried that as well. I am on the phone with AT&T right now and they looked it up by IMEI number and this morning they have a phone number assigned to my iPad. This wasn't the case yesterday when they couldn't find it by IMEI. Not sure this is progress but after 36 hours of waiting I have to take it as a glimmer of hope. Fun thing about today is that the whole AT&T data network is down in my area at the moment.....GRRRRR!

You may want to have them try to look it up by IMEI number.......go to settings, about...and look for the IMEI number.

Just sorted this out with AT&T tech support. If you can get your IEMI tied to a phone number, then the AT&T can look up the account and force an activation. I then rebooted the iPad and the activation completed. The View Account window still has the Q5033 error, but cellular data is working.

Btw, it required getting to the iPad specialist -- i.e. Tier 3 support.

Well I finally got the 3G to work! I called AT&T today and it only took about 30 minutes. They asked for my ICCID number and were able to assign a phone number to that. They even gave me my first 30 days for free since we had all these issues. I'm actually typing this on a Disney monorail as we speak. I hope this will work for other with this problem.
