AT&T Error Q5033

Anybody else coming across this error/timeout? I finally found an address I could use to get signed up for 3G but it gave me this error before the process completed. Now when I hit "view account" it thinks for a while and says "AT&T is unable to process your request. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please try again later (Q5033).

It's been a few hours now. Same message every time. Anyone else experience this and have a solution?

I guess I just got the right person. I just called 611 from my iPhone and got connected to a standard tech services person and after she had no idea what I was talking about she transfered me to an AT&T iPad specialist. So apparently they have people who will deal with just that. There is a way for it to be fixed. You just need to pressure them into it and tell them others are having similar problems and I can be fixed. I hope you get it taken care of today. Please keep us updated.

Ok, here's another update. I just spoke with Apple and AT&T again. Apparently in my situation, they have all the activation information but there is no data plan associated with the activation and they are unable to overcome that without escalating it to their engineers. So I've been told (again) to wait 24-48 hours for a response from AT&T. I should also note that Apple Support has been impressive and very understanding about the whole situation. AT&T however is just very matter of fact about me having to wait it out and there is nothing they can do at the moment.

I'll update if and when I hear from them.

Back and forth between At&t and Apple all day. They just blame each other. No matter what I do I get error Q5033. You would think if there are so many people with this problem (at least the number of people in this thread) that they would at least acknowledge the problem. The Apple people are INCREDIBLY rude. the ATT people are nicer but still can't solve the problem.

You know I ran into some pretty rude Apple techs on Saturday. They just treated me like was dumb, and when I tried to help with so,e info from this forum they just told me " to let them do their job". AT&T support ha been great the past few days. They might not have the answer right away, but after a few transfers they got it. I just hope that everyone else here can get it sorted. Like I said she just asked for my ICCID and it seemed to work from there. Let's hope that works for all of you.

I have had 6 calls now with both At&t and Apple. The Apple people are horribly rude. Even angry and just blame At&t. Now even though the At&t people are nicer, I have asked them to read this thread as the solution of assigning a phone number to the ICCID number seems to solve the problem. THEY REFUSE TO EVEN LOOK HERE. They say "thats not how we solve problems." Like the solution in this thread is some kind of lie or something. I ask them what would be the harm in trying... Still they won't attempt it. I am supposed to receive a call sometime in the next 72 hours. This is SO frustrating. I have work I need to do, and would prefer to do it on the iPad.

I am really suprised they are not listing to your feedback. All I told them was that I heard of a solution on the internet and asked if they could try it. They tried something with the IMEI number to no avail. Then she asked for the ICCID number and said she tied a local phone number to that then would force activate my service plan. She really seemed to get my issue and she told me she worked it the laptop connect card area of ATT before the iPad. So she knows the ins and outs of 3G service and whatnot. I would ask to speak to someone higher up if your not getting anywhere. This is just crazy and you guys should not be with out 3G service.

Keep us posted everyone...
