iTunes automatically changes the genres after update

Ooops. Probably need glasses... :-)

Just looked at the content of the messages and assumed it was Itunes 11. BECAUSE same thing here: My "private" genres get switched back to the genres Itunes has assigned. Well, I have found a solution and I think in time everybode else will too.

I got similar problem. itunes is changing genre, dropping "The" and "." in song and band names, who knows what else is changing? I dont have show in iCloud on. I have looked at all replies and no one has a solution?

Apple bad programing and what no testing?

Hi, I had the exact same problem as you Gub. The current version of iTunes destroyed months of work I did to keep the genre's simple. There are just way too many genre's out there. Why do I need 1song of "New World", then 2 songs in "Vocal Pop" and 1 in "Vocal", and so on... When I complained to Apple they brushed it off saying it was not their problem. So they ****** me off and I threatened to boycott them, which I have, except for the use of searching for songs and (I use the word lightly) "organizing" them in iTunes. So far the only songs I can change the Title, Arftist and Genre are the songs I copy from YouTube and transfer them to iTunes. However I am now afraid to plug my ipod into the pc cause I don't know if my library will get more messed up.

Have you been able to figure out how to navigate thru the new iTunes version, or have you also given up on iTunes?

Where was I “defending" Apple about anything in this thread, which started 5 years ago, before iTunes Match and iCloud were around...

and this thread is about iTunes 9...

What is “jerked knee”? Is that like jerked beef but a different part of the animal?
