I found a solution and its work for me , you may follow the below step -
for SMTP setting
HOST NAME - use your SMTP server provided by ur ISP /email/domain provider...
user name : use same user name you have used in incoming server.
password : use the same password you have used in incoming server.
authentication : select PASSWORD
hope it will work for you as well.... enjoy...
If it is any help to anyone, we have had a massive, intractable problem (now resolved) trying to send emails through 3G when we were out and about and not near a WIFI. It had been going on for over two years.
It baffled everyone, Apple Tech support, Three, Orange. Everyone suggested finding a different port (which didn't work), opening an iCloud email address. ( which didn't work), changing the outgoing mail server to Three ( didn't work)
The reason was that I had synched my new IPad Air to iCloud and the synching picked up a old smtp outgoing mail from an old ipad2 that had long been replaced by a new outgoing mail server
So if you are experiencing the same problems as we did, this is the answer !
ICloud is wonderful and very efficient. But I daren't use it anymore as I have no idea how to give the inner workings of my IPad settings a thorough clean !
Hope this is useful to people.
It's a mystery to me that this has to be a problem ;-)
IMHO here are the facts:
Most every ISP have their own preferred SMTP server. So if I'm on my home Wifi network the SMTP would be different than if I'm on a 3G network.
(This does not apply to eg. GMail, iCloud or Outlook since they have their own SMTP servers regardless of network)
Every mail client I'm aware of lets you set the SMTP server per account or globally only!
This is a constant problem if you're travelling and need to hook up to whatever network eg. a client can provide since their network provider is likely to have their own preferred SMTP server.
If you could set the SMTP server in network settings instead and let the account setting in the mail application point to the network setting SMTP for certain mail accounts these problems would never occur!
just my 2c.
Ok. Was having this problem on my Ipad since my ISP changed servers. It seems as if the Out Going Server on the IPad gets corrupted, especially if you have Multiple Email addresses with the same Out Going Server Name.
What I did to correct this was to remove the Out Going Server, ( Select "No Server",). For all acounts except ONE. I deleted all except my main Outgoing server (1 Entry). It was difficult because was getting the error saaying that some could not be deleted because it was tied to one of the email accounts. With those, I just deleted the email account on the ipad, the re-added it.
THe important thing in this instace to make it work again is to ensure that Only One Email Account has a Out Going Server Listed, and all the other have "No Server" Listed. Recreate the Primary Out Going Server, and choose and it will verify. Send a test email, ensure you are sending from the email address with the "out going server" selected, which should be your default address. After it works you can go back and recreate and select your other Outgoing Servers for your other email addresses.
Since I got this phone all my emails was luck up and vandalized. Apple got all my informations. I made e new yahoo email I having a hard time with it back and fort between my phone and iPad every time a log in . I made an important email today but my god **** phone have strange incomplete sending coul you explain it why
