Security code is invalid. iTunes for iTouch.

Due to an issue with my computer, I am forced to buy my songs from my iPod Touch. But when I try to purchase new songs, I get a message saying I need to enter my billing info and it takes me to a screen that says I need to insert my security code, and when I do, it says the number I put in is invalid.

I resolved this problem for myself today, though it may not help everyone. I called my bank and the problem was NOT an invalid security code though that is what was stated on iTunes. My bank has put a hold on all credit card transactions in California and New York because of massive fraud in those two states. The bank was therefore refusing my credit card transactions on iTunes, I assume because those transactions are handled in California. The solution by my bank was to issue me a gift card, deducted from my account, which they agreed to pay all fees for. I went to iTunes and changed my billing information to the gift card and it worked like a charm for me. I hope this helps some of you others with the problem.

I have the same issue, only I have an Ipod touch 3rd generation. I've had it for about a month and it's been working but now I see the security code Invalid when I know it's right. ALthough my card expires march of this year so it might have something to do with that. Also, I've noticed, most people that say they are having issues use bigger banks where I use a local bank. Anyone have any ideas? I've tried almost every solution mentioned only I refuse to create another account, I don't want to lose my paid apps. I know people say it doesn't work, but I intend to contact Apple and my bank to see if anything is wrong there. If I figure anything out I will be sure to post.

I am having the exact same problem. People are saying to simply use another card but the issue is that I don't HAVE another card to use, and I would like to continue to use the one that I've BEEN using. Apple seriously needs to fix this. Now people are offering to give them money and they're making it difficult to take it? Not only that but I've spent money on the Line 2 app that is payed for, for the next 6 months and how it can't make its update? Thank you apple.

Okay here's what you do:
1) enter in new card info (another credit/debit card) either in your name or a friend's
2) hit "done" and logout of account when the new card goes thru
3) log back in to your account
4) choose "view account/view sign in"
5) now enter in the info of the card that you want on your account

This worked for me 🙂

I cannot believe this many people are having the SAME issue and Apple has yet to do anything. I also cannot believe I shelled out as much money as I did for my iPad and now I cannot use one of it's main functions....buying Apps & Music! ...or downloading free ones for that matter! What nonsense. It is truly disgraceful that nothing is being done about this problem....and with it going on for how long?? Seriously, I am becoming extremely disgruntled with Apple products and Apple service in general.

Total BS if you ask me...

Having issues with my iPhone 4 (Verizon) uploading pix to Facebook, so I was told to dump the app and re-download it. As I was trying to re-download Facebook it said I needed to reverify my acct. info, which included my security code. Well, it is saying my security code is wrong..... Seems like a very common issue based on all the chatter here, not to mention it has been going on for some time. What gives??? I know my CC info is correct.

I am an Apple customer and believe in the quality they produce, but this is bunk and making me reconisder my droid and even PCs. I shouldn't have to enter CC info for free games an apps, etc.

Please fix this NOW!!!! User uploaded file

Peen50's idea worked perfectly for me! Here's what I did:

1. Logged In
2. Went to "My Account"
3. Clicked "Edit Payment Information"
3. Put in a different credit/debit card number
4. Clicked "Done"
5. Logged Out
6. Logged back in
7. Went back to "My Account"
8. Clicked "Edit Payment Information" again
9. Put in my old (non-working) debit/credit card number and security code
10. Clicked "Done"
11. Violá! Problem solved!

Thanks again Peen 50!
