UK Pre-order - "Shipped By" or "Delivered By"??

So, I pre-ordered my iPad, an O2 micro-sim and a case at 12.22am on the 10th May.

I notice my order status says "Estimated shipping by May 28th", so I phoned Apple to enquire as to whether I could expect delivery on the 28th.

The rep told me that some orders show "estimated delivery by May 28th" and some show "estimated shipping by May 28th"

Now, if it means they're not going to ship my iPad before the 28th..then I'm not too pleased!!

So the question is...does anyone in the UK's order status say "delivered by May 28th"??

I have a 32GB 3G coming via UPS just checked apple web site and tracking is now active, which links me to the UPS web site which shows the following.

TAMWORTH, GB 05/26/2010 8:20 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN

so it looks like its at least in the UK, but no date showing on apple or UPS for delivery hope it will be tomorrow....

Snap, im Tamworth as-well. unfortunately its quite a few miles from where i live so im thinking Friday for mine

also worthy of note is that the iPad itself is still classed as Billing Information received, guess that means ill get the accessories first. that would be a bummer

So...UPS has now updates my shipping info....my iPad Case is now In Transit...the iPad itself is not =/
I really hope I get it tomorrow.
EDIT: Cancel that...my iPad has now changed to In Transit also. 😀
EDIT AGAIN: And now my iPad is in Tamworth as of 19:10 today.

You seem to be in the same situation as me 🙂 I can only assume that they are both in the same package, but only one has been scanned. Either that or the system hasn't updated it yet.
But I will not be pleased if I get the case and not the iPad!

Scratch that, both tracking numbers are now showing as origin scans 😀
According to the tracking site, the iPad was scanned at 6:21pm and the case was scanned at 6:33pm.
Looking good for Thursday delivery 🙂

UPS has a large hub in Tamworth (It's their flagship facility), and it's from there they make overnight deliveries to local depots.
It's most likely then your parcel will arrive tomorrow and not Friday.

At least you have a confirmation that yours have been shipped my 32gb 3g still says waiting to be shipped I have spoken to Apple and they have said that it is being shipped tomorrow and will still be delivered on Friday I will be one seriously angry guy if my Ipad does not turn up on friday.

Mine's now showing as left Northampton so that's good.
Called TNT (after an expected 37 minute hold - good job it's 0800!) and the REALLY friendly and helpful guy said it will be with me 8-6 tomorrow. He guessed I might have taken Friday off (I have that off anyway) and offered to arrange me to pick it up tomorrow instead. I thought that was really good service. He said it's been absolutely rammed down to their system saying "please call" on the tracking.
You'd have thought they already worked that one through!

Just checked UPS and my IPAD 3G 32GB & Case are showing

Looks like its on the lorry working its way down south to wiltshire for me.....hopfuly i should get it tomorrow.....

Well this isn't funny....I just found out that the Sheffield UPS centre, I live in Sheffield, it a 5 minute walk away from me! I could wake up in the morning and walk there to fetch it.
...my iPad could be 5 minutes away from me soon... :O

Good news! received a despatched email and a UPS tracking number! And all is due to be despatched Friday the 28th 😀

So, the nice Irish man from Apple was 100% right - it did ship on time, it was from the UK, and it was with UPS!

Hope everyone gets their goodies this Friday!
