UK Pre-order - "Shipped By" or "Delivered By"??

So, I pre-ordered my iPad, an O2 micro-sim and a case at 12.22am on the 10th May.

I notice my order status says "Estimated shipping by May 28th", so I phoned Apple to enquire as to whether I could expect delivery on the 28th.

The rep told me that some orders show "estimated delivery by May 28th" and some show "estimated shipping by May 28th"

Now, if it means they're not going to ship my iPad before the 28th..then I'm not too pleased!!

So the question is...does anyone in the UK's order status say "delivered by May 28th"??

"I have a theory:

1. The WiFi only devices are already in the UK (and have been for a while) and therefore are using UPS (UK) to deliver. Hence no issue with them getting the items on the 26th for delivery on the 28th.

2. The WiFi+3G models are not in the country but are coming direct from China due to late production, hence the different shipping - TNT.

Not sure about this, mine is tracking with TNT and is only a Wi-Fi device.

Apple's tracking info is now back up and saying my iPad will be delivered tomorrow 🙂
On UPS's site at half 6pm had the origin scan at Tamworth. Looks like it'll be here tomorrow 😀
Although, theres apparently two packages, one is the iPad (2.00kgs) and the other I'm assuming is the case/micro sd card (0.40kgs). Unfortunately the lighter package is the one that has an origin scan. Hopefully the iPad is in the same place :P

The wifi already in the UK theory can't be right. I've been tracking mine via TNT from China since 22 May. But the really weird thing now is that it's still showing as being in the Netherlands on TNT, yet the TNT UK site asks me to call them which of course I can't get through to. And the apple site now says that it's out for delivery tomorrow but is subject to change.

I suppose the TNT please call us means that they won't actually be delivering tomorrow and that's what they want to tell me? What do you reckon? I took Friday off so I'm hoping to find out tonight.

The problem is that many of these online tracking systems don't get updated frequently enough, and even then they can be misleading.

I seem to recall once checking an Amazon uk delivery, and it kept saying destination Milton Keynes, arrived at Milton Keynes, Out for delivery Milton Keynes etc

I cancelled the order as I was concerned my order was going to someone in Milton Keynes in error but I think that was the UK HQ of the courier company so all their updates were flagged Milton Keynes!

Has anyone contacted UPS about delivery dates/times? The Apple order page says estimated delivery for tomorrow, but the UPS site doesn't give me any estimated delivery date.
I see a lot of people talking to TNT but not UPS.

I did call UPS earlier and the guy I spoke to said that the shipments were on track to be delivered either Thursday or Friday. The online tracking is not working as it should due to the sheer volume of iPad's being shipped. I've heard that TNT has had about 130,000 to ship so I'd imagine UPS is roughly the same :P
