Getting iPad to loop or repeat a video

So, my company just purchased an iPad and we are wanting to use it to loop a nice video at trade shows. As of now, we need to keep hitting the play button after the video plays once through. Wondering if there is a work around anyone knows of where we get the video to loop or repeat consecutively.

ibbjamin,
I've recently found a workaround for this. In iTunes (which is where I assume the video is) select the movie, and then go to Advanced -> make iPad version.

It will create an .m4v formatted video that will play on the iPads without issue. But now, for the looping, copy the video to iPhoto, in an album all by itself. Sync the album to the iPad.

Make sure on the iPad your settings for photos has Loop slideshow turned on. THen go to the photos, open the new album and select Slideshow.

It's an unnecessary workaround, but it does work flawlessly.

1) Import movie into iPhoto on your computer. (Details depend on where and how it was made or acquired)
2) Put the movie into its own album in iPhoto.
3) Sync photos with iPad. Make sure new album is selected, and the "Include videos" box is checked.
4) On iPad, go to Settings, Photos. Select Repeat option for Slideshow to ON.
5) Go to Photos, select the new album, and hit the Slideshow button.

Enjoy your movie again, and again, and again...

To loop videos get LoopyLoopy, it's free. For a while I've been using Video Loop Presenter and had problems getting both an iPad 1 and iPad 2 to see the videos. With Video Loop Presenter you need to use a utility called iPhone Explorer to copy videos to the camera roll. If it's not in the camera roll it won't be recognized. It worked ok for 1 video, then weird things would happen. It wouldn't recognize all 6 videos I have, just selected ones. Truly flaky behavior. With LoopyLoopy the interface is set up through iTunes to implicitly recognize videos you want it to play. To do this you have to use the File Sharing feature in iTunes. Here are the directions:

CWG's Video Loop Presenter no longer works under iOS 5.0 - the selected movie will play twice, then freeze, every time.

I've been trying everything I can think of to get this functionality back, but no luck - any suggestions are welcome. The problem is entirely repeatable with a variety of different movies, complete Restores, different iPods (I've got 4 of them I had been using in exhibitions to loop artist media, but no longer useful for this...)

Also, it doesn't appear possible any longer to downgrade the iOS of an iPod touch once it's been upgraded to 5 - I've tried the various Terminal /etc/hosts approaches suggested here and there, but even with the correct ipsw for the device, iTunes will no longer allow downgrades - part of the restore process involves connection with Apple servers to "allow" installation - which is NOT allowed. It seems it doesn't matter what I, the owner of the device, want to legitimately do with it, the manufacturer maintains a rigid control over what I'm "allowed" to do... and that's probably somewhere in the fine print of that Agreement - it doesn't matter what I want to do, I've purchased the privilege of doing just what I'm told...

you can perhaps tell that this is a 'vexing; issue for me, after three straight days of trying to solve it....

There is an app you can get for free from the App store for your iPad called CWG's Video Loop Presenter. It's a bit cludgy but does work. We've being using it for a Customer Shuttle at our dealership (as a digital signage device).

Doas anyone know of a VLC like player where you can que upand loop a playlist of video clips? There was something called LoopeyLoopey but it hasn't been upgraded and never worked for me.

Just downloaded LoopyLoopy and it works perfectly on iPad2.

1. Go to App store and download LoopyLoopy - it's free

2. Connect iPad to computer and open iTunes

3. Select you r iPad in iTunes, and click on the "Apps" tab

4. At the bottom you'll see a "File Sharing" section. Select "LOOPY"

5. Click the "Add..." button at the bottom of the LOOPY Documents Window and add your movie

6. Click the Sync button in the lower right corner

7. Open Loopy on your iPad and tap the menu button (lower right) and select your movie to loop

8. Fart, burp then have a beer while movie is looping.

Cheers.
