Apache not executing PHP

I put my blog in the user/sites/blog folder which has an index.php file to start the blog but when call the URL in Firefox I get a blank page and in Safari I get the following message:
Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “ http://192.168.0.5/~user/blog/” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again.

The httpd.conf file has the

LoadModule php5_module modules/php5.3/libphp5.so

uncommented.

Any idea why the php script does not execute

Does even a simple index.html file display properly in your blog folder? No.

What permissions are on the blog folder?

(me) = read/write
everyone= read/write
Admin = read/write

Did you make any other changes to httpd.conf other than uncommenting the php line? No.

Did you restart the webserver after changing httpd.conf? Yes.

Is your username really "user" ? No. I replace my real "name" for "use" where necessay.

Thanks for your time.

The problem is not fixed. Before when user http://192.168.0.5/~kskhater/
I get a directory listing, and when I use http://192.168.0.5/
I get "It works"
Now nothing just blank.
When I try http://192.168.0.5/~kskhater/info.php the browser tries to download the file. The same happen with http://192.168.0.5/~kskhater/blog/index.php

Any more ideas and thanks for all you help.

After trying to get Apache to work with no success I installed Entropy PHP 5.3.0-3

The strange this is when I try safari I get the following message:

Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “ http://192.168.0.5/~kskhater/blog/” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again.

When I check error log for Apache 2 it seems that Apache quit. I think the problem is with Apache not with php.

I managed to empty the error_log and here is what it shows after restarting and trying the browser to access my local site.

I don't see the problem.
