Given that, why is there constant attacks, inability to see others point of view, arguments, personal attacks, etc.

I think it's because some people need to "be right" at any cost and can emotionally hide behind their forum posts. They probably would not respond like when speaking face to face. I know I've been guilty of that a few times.

I am a novice apple user and received the iPad as a gift. I enjoy using device and was stunned when I went to view something on the Internet and I was not able to view the information because it required a flash drive for presentation. We are reviewing the iPad for use at work and I must point out that the device does not support viewing certain Internet information. I believe many of the people that have bought the iPad did not realize it limited you from viewing certain Internet content when they bought it, except all you geeks that routinely hit sites like this. This may not impact some and will impact others opinion on keeping the device or buying it. I came here looking for help to get an "app" that would run flash in the background or something like that. Come on, give us a work around!

I do like the iPad and will likely return it until I have complete Internet access from it.

Actually, Apple doesn't need to work with Adobe. If Adobe wants their proprietary plugin to be part of the iPad/iPhone experience, then ADOBE needs to produce a product that works within spec as far as cpu usage and memory usage. So far, they haven't done it.

Does anybody here REALLY think that if Adobe had produced that plugin that Apple wouldn't have added it to the iPad/iPhone ??? I mean, really ??

I think somebody should write an app for the iPad that will chew up all the available memory and bring the system to a crawl. Oh wait .....

The thing is Tamara, lots of people are just totally unaware of the issue. They see the news on TV, or watch progs like The Gadget Show, or see in their magazines that the iPad is a great thing to have, go to an Apple store, buy one and expect everything to work.
They probably don't even know what Flash is! I conducted a straw poll of the 6 people in my house at the moment, and all 6 knew about the iPad (especially as I'd shown mine off!), 2 knew about the Flash issue (including me), and 4 didn't even know what Flash is. Hardly scientific, but there we are.
I'm not excusing ignorance, but it's just not on a lot of people's radar.
At least those that have a problem with it can use the 14-day returns policy.
