Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

How does the preorder work?

I'm assuming that the preorder for the iPhone 4 will work the same way as other preorders have, for the 3GS, the 3G, etc. Do you have to pay the entire sum when you preorder it, a portion of it, or is it just like a reserve?
Thank you for clearing this up for me!

Assuming Apple allows you to preorder it online and have it shipped to the store, is there any benefit to actually ordering it in person?

I live right above an Apple store, and I'm determining if I should get up early to pre-order it before going to work or just pre-order it online.

Honestly, with all the unknowns about when pre-ordering will start online, I would order in person if you could, especially since you live so close (lucky).

What I ended up doing was setting it up so the Apple website will send me a text message when it's ready to pre-order. 🙂 That way I'll get a text message and know that I can pre-order.

I am currently in a contract with another provider besides AT&T.

I'm wanting to join into an already established family plan and preorder an iPhone 4. One person in the family plan will also be preordering an iPhone 4. Will we be able to accomplish this online (ordering two iPhones online, one is current AT&T customer, one from different network) on June 15th?

Do I need any information from my current service provider?

How will we be charged for the two phones?

So I need to pre-order mine from Radio Shack. Will it still be okay if I can't get there till after 5pm? If not I will need to leave during work to try to get it done. I am returning the 3gs I bought 2 weeks ago which is why I need to get it from Radio Shack.

They told me to just come in any time on the 15th to pre-order then on the 24th I can return my 3gs and get the 4g.

I heard that you need to get there by 7pm, and then after that, it gets put into the "First come, first serve" allotment.

So,...I have the 3g model and am do for an upgrade, so I am good to go. My wife however has a sprint contract that goes out on June 20th. We had planned on switching her over to AT&T and getting 2 iphone4's for us both. So my question is,...Will I be able to pre-order hers at the same time tomorrow for the 299 price even though we cant sign her up as a new customer till the 20th?

I attempted to pre-order at an AT&T store (it didn't go through due to my credit card, but that's another story). When I left the store I tried to use the internet on my 3GS and it wouldn't connect. I called AT&T support and they said my data plan had been removed. I also found that my text plan had been removed too. They had to submit a special request to get the grandfathered unlimited data plan added back to my phone which takes a few days, in the meantime they set me up with the 2GB plan.

I don't know how or why my current account was even touched, so it's pretty annoying that AT&T did this. I've only been with AT&T for 6 months and I've never been happy with their service. T-Mobile wins hands down on customer service and even their service area I very rarely had dropped calls. AT&T drops calls multiple times per day and they have very weak coverage at my home and work.

Hello EBSkater,

I have pre-ordered the iphone4 and need to pick it up from the local Apple store. Are you sure they put the iphone4 on to 'First Come, First Serve', because I wouldn't make it to the store until 5:00 PM.

I would be really ****** if I miss out on the phone on Thursday..Apple store representative told me that if I have pre-ordered than they will reserve it on my name until COB. Hope they keep up with their word.

Look forward to hear back from you.

Kalsshah
