QuickVoice Problem

Can anyone please advise I used quickvoice and did 2 diff voice recordings when I sync the ipad its nowhere to be found on itunes library I cannot even find it in itunes under the ipad itself either but when I restart the ipad and go into QuickVoice application I see on the listing 2 recordings and the only options I see there is to e-mail them but when I try to do it it tells me its greater than 5mb e-mail limit so how does one get say a 30min meeting on voice transferred???????
under more info on itunes apps it says it can record meetings or am I wasting my time with this application and can anyone recommend one that actually works by the way am not wanting voice to text for emails.

I finally figured out a solution that worked for me. nFinity's QuickVoice sync app for Mac doesn't work for me because my iTunes backup is encrypted.

I used PhoneView to access the files:https://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/

In the PhoneView menu bar I went to Preferences, checked "Show Entire Disk (Advanced Disk Mode)". Then on left panel went to "Apps", checked "Show All Apps". Found "QuickVoice", went into "Documents" folder, then clicked "Copy from iPad" button at the top.

Once I had the .caf files on my Desktop, instead of converting with Soundtrack Pro, I used Max which is free and can convert .caf to MP3.

Good luck!

Evidently. It wouldn't have mattered to me anyways because I never encrypt (My friend LOST EVERYTHING once encrypting...be careful with that) so for me the sync utility is the perfect solution especially since I love this recorder best out of all of them (and trust me I tried them all). Oh well sounds like you found a solution anyways so all is good. Merry Christmas.

I thought I'd share how I got my large QuickVoice recording from my iPhone 4 to my MacBook Pro 15".

The recording was 39 Mb, so too large to email (what a crap app). I plugged one end of a 3.5mm audio cable into the earplug socket of my iPhone, and the other into the mic port of my Mac.

Then I went to Mac 'audio' settings and selected 'Input' then 'Audio line-in port'.

Then I started QuickTime, selected 'New audio recording' and hit 'record'.

Then I played the recording in QuickVoice, ensuring the phone's volume was as high as possible.

I could see the audio meter moving in Mac audio settings, so I knew it was working (I also did a test first).

And THEN I deleted the app! What a waste of time.

To export QuickVoice Pro files, here's what you do. Note: their Windows App didn't work for me.

For PC:

  1. Download and install iFunBox (free windows software). Do not launch it yet.
  2. Connect your phone to your computer. If iTunes launches, stop the sync and close iTunes. Leave your phone connected.
  3. Open iFunbox now. It will recognize your iPhone.
  4. Click on the iFunbox Classic tab on the top left.
  5. Expand User Applications.
  6. Expand Quickvoice Pro.
  7. Right Click the Documents folder and select "Copy to PC". It will ask you where you want to save the files. Pick a folder on your PC.
  8. Transfer away. This saved my butt big time. I had recording dating back to 2008 of people that passed away. I was able to retrieve them all.

It will download files as CAF files. I used Quicktime to Export them as WAV. Then I converted them to MP3. Good luck!

Mine was saying that I had to update to QuickVoice Pro before i could share the files but I was experimenting and I found that if I turned on airdrop on my iPad and iPhone, I could airdrop the file to myself and then open it in voice memo and then i emailed it to myself from there (you could also upload it to your computer through syncing with iTunes) And my file was over 2 hours long.

Hope this helps with anyone who is still wondering!

I have QuickVoice installed on an iPhone 6 and I had the same problem - that for bigger files it asked for QuickVoice Pro, which even after I installed it, it worked with a new database (being a new app installed), and the old recordings remaining trapped in the free (non-Pro) QuickVoice app.

Here's my fix on it:

When you are in the QuickVoice app and click on a recording (that's longer than 5 minutes) to export it, you will receive a pop-up saying that you cannot send them via e-mail because they are longer than 5 mins and you need to get the Pro version. Hit ok, and in the back you will have the iPhone's sharing options, without the embedded iOS email app (wihch QuickVoice disabled).

You still have other sharing methods available though! - like airdrop (as nloewen19 said above), so you can use that. Another sharing option I used is the Gmail app from Google. If you install the Gmail app and configure your email account in the app, then it will automatically add itself as a sharing option for the iPhone. Consequently, go to the QuickVoice app after installing and configuring the Gmail app for iPhone and you will also have Gmail as an option to send your recording with (since again, QuickVoice only disabled the traditional embedded iOS email app). This method worked for me, apart from the airdrop method above.

You can also use the Dropbox app for iPhone. After downloading the app and configuring it with your Dropbox account, go to the QuickVoice app and hit share/export recording and you will also have the option to save your recording to Dropbox from Quickvoice. This didn't work for Google Drive or Box, however.

Good luck!

hi wstorm, thanks for sharing this tip. i was frustrated by quickvoice, since they didn't used to have the five minute limit and didn't warn me they had changed it, so i kept using it and now have files trapped in there!

anyway, i did successfully email the files to myself using gmail, however they are m4a format and don't seem to play in my itunes. any ideas?
