New LED Cinema Display on a PC - PC won't boot with USB plugged in

I bought a new LED cinema display to use with my PC, I'm an artist and I think it's the best display around. The display works great on my PC (I have a video card with mini displayport). However, my PC will not boot if I have the USB cable from the display plugged in. It hangs in the BIOS, and won't let me go any further or even let me go in the BIOS. In order to get my computer to turn on, I have to unplug the USB cable, wait for my OS to start up, and then plug the cable in. Once plugged in, it works, and the USB ports on the display work, etc. It's a big pain, because my computer is on the floor, and I don't like having to go down there to unplug it everytime I reboot my PC.
I tested this display on my Mac, and my Mac boots up fine with it plugged in. What's the deal? I've tried changing some BIOS settings too, like the setting for Legacy USB, and also made sure the PC was not set to boot from USB. What else can I do? Thanks.

Hi,

so, older 5770 card with DisplayPort will not work with Apple LED Cinema Display even with DP->MiniDP converter?

How about this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150501
This one is not eyefinity 5 model but it does have Mini DP on the card.

I have Asus HD5770 card with DisplayPort and I'm thinking buying the new Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display and use the DP->MiniDP with it.

Thanks,
Dennis

Quick question - aside from the USB port not working (sounds like a power issue to me from my experience), have you been able to get the drivers working on a PC? I hear you cannot adjust the monitors brightness and contrast settings etc. without being able to run the bootcamp control panel app. I have it installed right now for using an Apple USB keyboard on my PC with Bootcamp 3.1 stripped out, but I cannot load the actual Control Panel app because I don't have any Mac partitions.
