iphone 4 and tomtom car kit

I just got my iPhone4 @tomtom kit delivered - if I had only found this forum first i would never have bought it.

It came with iPhone4 adaptor, which makes no difference. No charging, no connection to base and thats with the lastest apps downloaded.

Extremely irritating, especially as it is a fair investment of cash.

Judging by what I found since then looking online for a solution there are thousands of unhappy customers being bounced between Apple and TomTom - no one is to blame honest guv!

They should read http://www.sethgodin.com/purple/ about doing awesome customer service.

The issue seems to be a hardware one,

It seem that the connector does not engage correctly unless the rocker part is pushed right back, which seem to engage power, connector, bluetooth etc

I used a couple sticki pads and that did the trick using Iphone4, iphone tom tom car kit (the iPhone 4 version (firmware 0.0.53), my old one worked from my 3gs and sticki pads but think firmware (0.0.48) may be an issue as got message about interference and not supported on iphone 4) tom tom car kit tool v1.0

Have you found a solution yet? if you haven't, call TomTom support 866-486-6866. there is an adaptor for iPhone 4 that they will send you for free!

They will tell you that there is nothing they can do at first but if you tell them you saw on their website there is an free adaptor for iPhone 4. they will set you up to receive it. FREE SHIPPING too!
