Auto Pause between songs in a playlist

Hi there
I want to use iTunes to play backing tracks to sing to and would like it to move onto the next song but not start playing it until I tell it to.
Is this possible?
I can get it to play single songs and stop, but it doesn't move on to the next one.
If iTunes won't do it can anyone recommend a program that will?

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

That's an iOS app; the question is about iTunes for Mac (at least, that's the forum it's in).

If i wanted to run this script on an ipad, would i need to borrow a mac to install it??

I have since purchased pauser pro, it's very good, maybe apple should give the author a job on iTunes
