exchange stops syncing

at my office we use mail.app under snow leopard with a hosted exchange server. one staff member has a recurring problem where mail.app will stop syncing with our exchange server randomly. it still works on her blackberry, the outlook web client is sending and receiving just fine, her internet connection is a-okay, but for some unknown reason, every so often, mail.app will just stop sending and receiving her mail. the connection hasn't dropped out for anyone else in the office. it's working just fine on my machine.

has anyone encountered this behavior before and figured out a solution for it?

Running into the same issue here. I was hoping to get away from Entourage, but for now I'm stuck with it. Mail.app continuously stops syncing mail with our Exchange server. Like others have stated, I need to quit and start Mail several times before it continues to sync. A few hours after getting it to work, syncing will stop once again. This issue is not isolated to myself, all users of Snow Leopard at work run into the exact same issue.

I'm quite surprised Apple has not addressed/fixed this bug.

Is this Exchange 2003?

I have the same issue. My mail stopped working with Exchange 2010 just like that as Office for mac Outlook2011 is still woriking fine.

I am running Macbook Pro 15" model 2007 Lion 10.7.3

Mail v5.2 (1257)

Conenction doctor report no errors my inbox remains empty and the Sync icon keeps spinning.

Mail does sync with gmail and icloud.

I'm surprised Apple did not provide a fix to this bug yet.

I seem to have fixed this issue...

In finder, click GO and hold down OPTION to reveal LIBRARY.

Go to MAIL. Delete the V2 directory. Note: this removes all previous settings in mail and you need to set up your accounts again from the beginning.

Open the MAIL.app and it will do some migrating this for a while. Have a beer. Come back and then set up your accounts again. Has been working for a few days now without losing connect (Server 2008 account)

I made a support call and was handed up to a senior Mail engineer and was told that Apple Mail does not support exchange 2009. It only supports up to 2007 EWS Server. He mentioned the rollout version but I cant read my writing-was kinda ******. Apple sometimes does the stupidest stuff. I dont get it.

Here is the article he refernced; HT3748

He didnt have an answer wether or not mountain Lion would support exhange or not.

Sorry about the bad news but here we are.

Sorry but here we are not,

There is no such thing as Exchange 2009, and Lion supports all versions of Exchange from 2007 R1 to date, your 'Senior Mai Engineer' has no idea what he is talking about.

It's been four solid days - and I haven't had a single "Mail.App stuck synchronizing" problem. My mailbox is super responsive, and it's a pleasure using Mail.app once again. So - following the instructions to remove my V2 folder (actually, just copied it to my desktop to be safe) - worked flawlessly for me after several months of continuous failures synchronizing.
