iPad blue screen of death

I keep getting random crashes that go to a blue screen. The only way out is to hard restart (press shutdown and home button down for at least 10 seconds).
I've tried update and restore but the problem persists. Any ideas?

Try restoring as new, i.e. without your backup.

If this is the same screen you see, well this morning it happened to me on "shut down" my battery was dead then i knocked it then i saw a light blue screen with the little spinning thing in the middle them bam dead, on the cycle to work my iPad was playing on my mind so much that I almost crashed.

I spent time with apple care, then insurance no easy task. Being on an island in the caribbean for months more thier is no Apple store or even a post service here.

To sort it out I remember from the days of Apple early iPod ownership a combination of pressing buttons to get you a reset. these failed but i thought as the screen brightens from its off mode when i press the buttons i know the screen has some life so i thought i would try the slider which of course was not visable but then hey it might be under the blank screen this lead to some success I got this blue screen for a period of 2-10 seconds.(taking the photo was fun) I imagine a "General reset" might do something when the blue sceen appeared which failed. I then plugged it in and did the same then BAM it worked.

I am not going to lie in saying I was excited because that would be an understatement when it worked, had there been a video camera secretly filming my reaction, then putting it on youtube could well have gone viral 🙂))))

One thing I will say is when these things break, my life changes in that I have so much on one unit such as Manuals and such as well as Zinio for magazines AND Spotify for music so when it failed you ( like any lover of iPad stuff would admit,) might feel "crying inside" would be an understatement. All this fun today and I have realised I need to have TWO so roll on iPad 3!

Hope this helps
