iOS4 settings crash

Hello,

I updated my iPhone 3G recently to the golden master version of iOS4, and I noticed a reproducable problem: When going to Settings > General the Settings app crashes and I am returned to the springboard.

I think this problem might be caused by having an iPhone OS3 compatible .mobileconfig loaded.

Is there anyone who experienced this problem and found a way to fix it or is there any way to remove the .mobileconfig when I can't reach General Settings?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

Same problem, with anything related to the passcode. Sometimes it even errors out just entering the General Preferences tab. I can't even set the passcode through MobileMe, which you are supposed to be able to do with iOS 4. It just gives an unspecified error, and tells me to try again later. I can still send messages to the phone through MobileMe, so they are talking.

I have attached my crash log:

Also attempting to add system settings to the OS fail.

“Cannot Install Profile. Safari could not install a profile due to an unknown error”

What I've done that got it out of the Apple symbol/Apple updating bar loop was restarted my computer and unplugged the USB, then when my computer restarted, I plugged my iPhone back in and held down the home and power buttons until the apple symbol appeared. When that appeared I just held down the home screen button until the icon saying to connect my phone to iTunes appeared; putting it in recovery mode. It's now back on and activating/restoring from my back up, and seems to be working properly.

Hope this helps!
