iPad Safari crashing regularly

Safari on my iPad is crashing fairly frequently; sometimes when I restart it retains the pages that were previously open, and sometimes not.

Have not yet established a pattern, but it seems prevalent on very large pages (for example pages with many images) and on pages with embedded video (particularly Flash).

Anyone else experiencing the same issue and/or have any further information? Anybody using a browser other than Safari on the iPad?

Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Bardium, I've had the cannot delete email problem and it is just a setting that needs changing. Perhaps something that got lost in restore. I can't quite recall exactly which one but I just googled it and the answer is somewhere here on this forum..

Regarding the crashes....I had the same problem and after Apple guiding me to do the restore as you have done, the problem remained. So much so that I couldn't go into iTunes at all.

It's now on the way to apple for repair or replacement. Apple support told me it is a memory fault.

What concerns me is, a potential replacement takes over the warranty period of the original as explained to me yesterday by Apple. As this is a progressive problem, then hypothetically, the replacement going wrong after the same period would be at the end of the warranty period. If I'm dissatisfied with a repair or replacement, do I have the right to a refund?

Guess what, me too, I went to the Genius Bar and the Genius told me to wipe and reinstall which I did. It' take a while to do and I still have the same problem and wrost. Sometime, safari crasched or my IPad freeze or my keybord freeze or it all shut down. When it freeze, I have no choice to shut it down. Is it besoming like Win..it quality world.

I have a lot of devices from Apple and it's the first time I have so much problems. So please fix it now. Is it OS or hardware or configuration or Apps problem !

Seriously,

You know, I moves to Apple for the quality of the OS, now I thing Apple is like Windows. I don't know why Apple don't yet fix it.

May be, it's a serious problem.....

I use my IPAD at least 3h per day and I stop counting Safari crashed. I got at least 10 crash atoday nd I shut down once.

It's seem similar as my past Window time. Don't work, reboot it, it's normal !!!!

I have a VERY WEIRD question. Does anyone remember when Apple starting letting other phone services (other than AT&T) handle the iPad? I'm not a tech person and I'm sure all the crashing is a software problem BUT I was just wondering if all the crashing COULD be because of ALL the services interfering with each other?

No, for a number of reasons. One, the people who are having the problems (and it is not all iPad Air users) are primarily describing a memory issue. This has nothing to do with which network the iPad is on. Two, in the U.S., cellular service is incredibly tightly regulated. Different carriers have different frequency bands allocated to them. Three, some of the people describing the problem are using WiFi. And not everyone who is reporting the problem is in the U.S. And four, there have been Verizon compatible iPads since the iPad 3.

Didn't think so, that's why I said it was a WEIRD question, that I WAS NOT a tech person and that I was sure it was a software problem. I DID NOT, however, blame it all on AT&T, I was just including them with the other services i.e., Verizon, Sprint, etc. I figured since Apple isn't coming up with any solutions why not throw out just about any suggestion. Who knows maybe one of them might be right no matter how off the wall they might be!!!!!

Apple are punishing us for using gmail, at least in my case. My iPad started performing like an actual iPad after removing my gmail account from mail.

That's just silly. I use Gmail and Chrome with no difficulties. If Apple didn't want you to use Gmail, there would be a lot of easier ways to prevent you from doing so. And they'd probably make it affect everyone who uses Gmail instead of just you. 🙂
