No white iphone 4?

I just read that there will be no white iphone4 available for pre-order or until "later this summer."

Is this true?!?!

Thanks for the info, but it is hard to believe. Apple will not even give you any clues!

I have spoken to an Apple representative who have dealt with my previous order and all he could say was that we will get told via Apple website and to keep checking.

Yeah right I will just sleep with with Ipad on next to my pillow every day!

It would of been nice to have been given even the month.

Having all of the costumers who would spend their money buying an Apple product hanging on and telling them to keep checking is a Discrace! Boooooooooo

Ok read on another thread that someone preordered white iphone from bestbuy. So i called and here is the info they gave

You can preorder the white iphone 4 from them. But he checked while i was on the phone and said it WILL NOT arrive on the launch date June 24th. He was told it is scheduled to arrive 2-3 weeks after but did not have an actual date as of yet.

The way you preorder through best buy is you buy a $50 gift card and it gets the iPhone 4 SKU # placed on it to reserve your phone. You do not have to pay the full purchase price til you come in to pick up the phone.

so if you want the white one looks like youll have to wait a few extra. Im going ahead and preordering mine in hopes of getting to the front of that line at least.

hope that helps

I just called another Best Buy (Union Square, Manhattan) and spoke with a very rude representative.

I asked politely if they were taking pre-orders for the white iPhone 4, she replied "it will be available end of summer." Further inquiries as to whether or not there was yet a confirmed date resulted in the same belittling, monotone response of "end of summer." I especially appreciate that thanking her for her help resulted in a no-response hang up...

Just the icing on the cake for a really "expletive" day. It's situations like that in which I wish I could drop my manners a bit.

I'm really disappointed in Apple, if they planned not to offer the white iPhone 4 at launch, why would they lead people into believing otherwise? And if it was unplanned, can they really not offer any better of an explanation that "is not currently available?"

Does anyone else feel like this is a huge slap in the face? Gadgets are passion for me, and Apple is a company I've come to rely on for release day reliability. I'm very surprised and disappointed.

I don't think anyone but Apple knows when the white one will be available, so I'll be taking my cue from them. In the last 12 hours, AT&T has told me it would be available for pre-order, then on the 24th. My apple store said it's not available (obviously) for pre-order, but they're still under the assumption they will have some in stock on the 24th. They hadn't been told "yet" that there wouldn't be any white ones on the 24th.

So all the other rumors about 1-2 weeks, August, or "later this summer" I think is pure speculation because the 3rd party folks have no idea and Apple isn't saying OR answering their phones.

I agree with you - it's very bad on Apple's part they wait for pre-order day to come up with this. I am in Italy so we still have to wait another month 'til it launches here and perhaps it will be available then. But I ask myself why didn't Apple wait and launch when they were sure to have both colours? Funnily enough I am quite liking black now - decisions decision lol
