How do I transfer pictures from my iPhone to my PC?

I have a first generation iPhone. I have pics that I would like to transfer to my PC, however, the iPhone does not show up when I open "My Computer". How can I import these photos?

HP Notebook, Windows 7

Photos in your camera roll are imported just like photos from a digital camera. In windows you should have the scanner/camera wizard to do this.

Got a 4s and just plugged it in to transfer some pics to my PC. I know I've previously done this no problem, but could not see anything at all.

I checked my setting in Folder Settings, (Windows 7)- Control Panel -> Folder Options, goto the View tab, under

Hidden files and folders, make sure Show Hidden Files and Drives is selected, if it wasn't, as in my case then check it, pics should now be visible, they may be in a sub folder. HTH.

Solved this for my ipnone 4, ios6 with Windows 7 pro in Windows Explorer. Went to Start>Devices and Settings, I saw Apple Iphone there with an Exclamation Point (means it has a problem). Right clicked, selected troubleshoot and Windows took care of the problem, it was an Iphone driver issue.

Hope this helps someone.

Hi all,

After futzing around for so long, I figured out why i couldn't get Windows to see the iPhone (aka activate Autoplay).

Even though my settings were set to "Import using Windows" for the iPhone 5, it still wouldn't do it.

If you are still stuck, try this.

First, make sure all the previous steps are done (Autoplay settings, updated iTunes to the latest version etc).

With the iPhone locked, connect the phone to the Windows computer.

You should see NO autoplay window appear. There is a method to the madness, trust me.

Now, disconnect the iPhone (after sync is completed in iTunes).

Unlock the iPhone. As in, put in your passcode (you ARE using one right?!) and get to the screen you see when you unlock the iPhone.

Okay, now that your iPhone is unlocked, NOW connect the iPhone to the Windows PC.

You SHOULD see the autoplay window appear!

If not, sorry this didn't help you.

If so, congratulations! There is nothing wrong with your setup.

The initial thought was that it was a "security feature" but iTunes syncs data regardless of the phone state so that's not it.

The only thing I noticed was that the iPhone was recognised as such ONLY when it was unlocked.

To test this, I used the Devices and Printers section of Windows 7 to see the state before and after unlocking the iPhone.

While the Apple iPhone USB Driver stayed staic throughout, the actualy phone driver didn't.

Not sure if this is by design or what but its what I observed.

Hopefully this helps someone and good luck.

This did it for me! After trouble shooting, which upgraded the driver, it then allowed me to browse files and copy all my pics to my Win 7 PC!

The easiest solution is to get Photosync from iOS App Store (nominal charge) and download free client for your mac or pc.If u dont want to install client on your mac or pc, get the pics off via Dropbox.

u can then sync outside of iTunes etc with full resolution images and in the iOS device's edited folders you havge painstakingly created by buluetooth, wifi or wired or, better still via Dropbox.

All other solutions get the pics off but they're not full resolution and all edits will be lost.

Photosync - it's the most useful app in App store for images.
