iTunes 9.2 - unable to play videos ...

Hello, I've got problem to see videos :
I bought yesterday 6 movies, which I can't see in iTunes (9.2, quicktime X, safari 5). I only see a black screen, and no sound at all.
I tried to read one of those movies on another computer (iTunes 9,1, quicktime X, Safari 4) ... And it works !
Does anyone have an idea to solve my problem, considering that the older videos works fine on my computer ? Thanks in advance for your answers.

I tried it too. I also tried downgrading to iTunes 9.1.1 but that didn't work either on the Mac. Just restored my backup image and will wait on a fix from AAPL. They are aware of it. I just received this email:

Its Surya again. I hope you are having a nice day!

Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.

Thank you for your patience. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible.

Funny thing is I ask if I should download a movie (I'm leaving for a trip and would like to buy one to watch on the trip) and this was my response..

This is XXXXXX again with the iTunes Store Customer Support Team. I understand you would like to purchase a movie for an upcoming trip. Unfortunately I cannot guarantee that a purchased video is going to work properly, so until you have been notified that the problem is resolved your videos may not work.

So it must be a pretty bad issue, I guess we just need to stay away from buying movies until they have it fixed. I do have it working on my IPhone however, so for now I'm not going to worry about it.

Hi all, I'm experiencing the exact same problem with videos I recently purchased after upgrading to iTunes 9.2. I purchased the entire 3rd season of Breaking Bad and none of the videos will play. I'm running a fully-patched Mac OS X 10.6.4 – Probably too patched!

I ran through the /Users/Shared/SC Info suggestion and removed the folder & checked permissions. I deactivated and reactivated my computer successfully. I can successfully play older protected songs and movies.

When I double-click the first HD episode of BB, "No Mas", I am prompted to authorize my computer, which is odd because other protected content tied to my apple ID plays just fine. I enter my Apple ID password in again and I get a return message indicated that "This computer is already authorized."

The episode appears to be playing according to the scrub bar and timer, but I hear no audio and the screen is blank. I've wrote Apple support yesterday, but have not heard back yet. Please post any other tips that you find.

I found a workaround, although it's not ideal. I was able to play my downloaded TV episodes on another computer via Home Sharing. The other computer was a windows laptop running an older version of iTunes. This stinks though because the video doesn't look nearly as good as it does on the mac

iTunes is also showing the wrong number of authorized computers. It looks to me like the Apple DRM system is all messed up since the new updates. If only they'd kill it off altogether (sigh....)

I put in a support request and they haven't replied to it yet. I hope everyone with this problem submits support requests -- make them work to resolve this issue. It's completely unacceptable to not be able to play paid content on the computer which was used to purchase it!!

I am having the same issue - everything downloaded before the upgrade is fine, but the new stuff says I'm not authorized to play it, I enter my password, it tells me that I am already authorized and then the grey screen of death. I have gotten no answers from Apple. I am running 10.5.8 for my OS, but all software is up to date. I followed all "faq" directions for deleting the SC folder, rebooted everything. Zip.

Apple needs to just send me a "software update" of the old ITunes. The IPhone 4 OS is no good to me anyway as I am only a year into my 3g. A refund or an apology and a working video seem like they are in order. I didn't bring my whole electronic life over to Apple just to get treated like a Windows user!

I've been able to play my downloaded TV Show on my 5th-generation iPod and my iPhone 4, however, I'm still not able to play the new TV season on my Mac mini with iTunes. I haven't contacted Apple Support about this issue yet, because I was hoping they would just release a update to iTunes because of all of the user complaints. I haven't tried downgrading because I'm positive that won't work and I'm not that tech-savi with Macs yet. Should I contact Apple Support or see what happens?

Hello all,

We have identified and resolved an issue that affected a small number of video purchases and digital copies from the iTunes Store. Affected purchases and digital copies have been re-granted. To re-download any affected purchases, choose "Check for Available Downloads..." from the Store menu." To re-transfer any affected digital copies, delete the affected videos, reinsert the disc and go through the redemption process again.

Regards,
Roy

Last night I downloaded an episode of Top Gear, and when I tried to play it, it gave me the error that I had a non-HDCP whatever display attached. However, I was on my laptop, to which the only thing attached was the power cord. I also tried one of the other "protected" episodes that I had downloaded and watched in the past and yet again, it detected an unauthorized display. Which is I guess now what the screen of my laptop is? Anyone else having this issue, or have a fix? I can still watch my older videos, it's just the last few, with the new awesome copyright tech. thanks!

I have gone through iTunes email support, followed all of the listed steps via web support listed at Apples Support web pages as well as any listed steps listed here by other users who suffer from this same technical issue and there is still nothing that works for me. Apple needs to fix this problem will it take a letter from my state senator like it took for the iPhone 4. Why is apple dragging their feet on this?
