Angry Bird HD no sound, problem with iPad or app?

Hi guys!
I recently bought an iPad and downloaded the Angry Bird HD game. When i first ran the game, i realize there was no sound, even if i press the mute and then unmute it, there was no sound.
I restarted the game and the sound came back. Is anyone having the same issue of running apps with no sound? I'm not sure if this is the problem with the app or with my ipad, hopefully just the app.
thanks guys!

"Not happy Jan"! I've only just found this post. I should have looked on the internet first before restoring my ipad to factory settings. Thank goodness for Apple, they really help users. I was able to restore a time-stamped backup. I've written to the developers of Angry Birds but its taken me several precious hours to work out it was Angry Birds causing the problem and not my iPad. How frustrating. There goes by computer-time for the day.

F I N A L L Y, I've solved my problem or should I say the Forum community has assisted me with this problem. My problem was the toggle switch in the ipad, the one just above the sound up/down switch on the side of the iPad. I think it is a "mute" switch. In portrait orientation, I switched it and vwallah I got my sound back on Angry Birds and on an app I'm developing. Yay! Well I certainly learned a lot during this struggle.

I have the new iphone4 for Verizon and had this sound problem. The Angry Birds sound quit working and nothing seemed to help. With the forum's help I figured out to cycle the iPhone completely off, restart, then after launching the app go into the menu and turn off the mute button. Before the restart, the mute button shows that the sound is not muted, so need to restart to see it muted.

iPad 32GB iOS 4.3.1 with Side Switch set to "Lock Rotation"

*My Fix*
This is how I fixed my Angry Birds HD no sound issue. I set the iPad Side Switch to the locked/muted position. Then in the Settings, under General, I set the "Use Side Switch To" to 'Mute'. With the iPad muted, I launched Angry Birds HD. Once the game was fully loaded, within the game's settings, I muted the sound... then unmuted. (Again, that was within the game's settings.) After that step, I slid the iPad's Side Switch to the unmuted position and turned up the volume. Behold! Angry Birds music!

As my preference, I did return my settings to 'Rotation Lock' in my iPad settings. Angry Birds' sound still plays when the iPad is in the lock rotation position. =D

Hi I had this issue but with all apps. The iPod worked fine but no audio in all apps.

In the end I tracked it down to something quite obscure.

IOS 4 returned the option to use the mute switch to lock rotation. I prefered this and so selected this setting.

As it turned out I had the switch in the mute position when I did this.

It would appear the mute sat (very) quietly doing it's business but not affecting music.

Why the mute was not applied to all audio output is something that Apple may care to look at.

However the bottom line is that if you have an iPad and have set the mute switch back to rotation lock, look there.
