how to change PDF name in iBooks app

To change the title of an item in IBOOKs on IPAD click EDIT from the library. Check the item you want to change. Hold your finger over the current title until select/paste appears, then just edit the item and click done. You don't need a special program or anything else.

It appears working but it's not. It just adds confusion because only the title of the item on iPad has changed. The titles of the same item on iTunes and iBooks on Mac, as well as the titles on other iOS devices do not change at all after syncing.

Details:

The title of an item in iBooks (app version 3.2) on iPad (iOS 7.0.4) has changed but the changed name does not sync back to iBooks (version 1.0.1) and iTunes (version 11.1.3) on Mac OS X Mavericks. And the changed name of the item does not change on other iOS devices (e.g. iPhone with iOS 7.0.4) as well.

Same issue here. I want the iBooks mac app to reflect changes I make to my document library on my iPad.

I was told by Apple this past week that the books/pdfs only sync from mac to ipad. Things we download on iPad live there but don't move over. I don't think this is accurate because I am pretty sure things I've downloaded on my iPad are now in iBooks on my iPad. However, I fully agree that they name confusion is a problem as when we 'fix' it on the iPad, it does not transfer across to the same document in iBooks on the Mac. And this makes for some very confusing time when trying to find an article to read when working on the Mac.

It turns out this is actually simple to do right on the ipad. I do it all the time.

Go to iBooks, go to pdf's, click on the button which changes the layout to vertical.

Once here you'll have options at the bottom, click on titles, go to edit and click the one

You want to change. For whatever reason sometimes you have to click it twice, but the

Keyboard will pop up

What you did could only change the name. You can't search it, and it can't be synced to Mac.

changes made as above to PDF titles in iBooks on an iPad 3 with iOS 10 are not holding for me. They used to hold but now they change back soon after quitting and restarting iBooks.

Searched everywhere as all of you did then had a brainwave. Saved original to Notes, changed the title to my own requirements, and then sent to ibooks as pdf.
