iOS4 update - now iPhone now reboots during phone call
After about 4 or 5 mins in a phone call my iPhone 3GS reboots itself for no apparent reason. this did not happen before I put the iOS4 update on it. Is the some way I can stop this happening, or revert back to the previous version?
I have got the same problem over here, i took the following steps:
- Upgraded from 3.1.3 to IOS4
Got a 29 error, but fixed this with some magich (irecovery)
- After this i got a working copy of IOS4 on my phone, i restored my last backup.
- Phone suddenly crashes even in standby.
- Did a restore and made a new profile.
- Now the phone only crashes while calling.
I hope we are not the only one with this issue....
I just upgraded my phone literally three minutes ago and I hope I don't have this issue also, it took my phone about 3 hours to back up and I don't know why.
Me too. Had one 18 minute incoming call since upgrading today and one 7 minute incoming call - both OK. Then just now it rebooted in the middle of a call. If this happens again the phone has ceased to be fit for purpose.
Could it be related to memory usage with the new multi-tasking? It only happened to me later in the day - maybe the amount of available memory had dropped too low. Is there any (non-jailbroken) way to see how much memory is in use?
Mine can do it twice in a call and so the second time, having rebooted, with no apps on the device the memory should have cleared therefore I would imagine it's something in the hardware as it's also a minority of users it seems, some part marginally out of spec maybe.
I take it back. Just happened again after a reboot. Has anyone had it happen who did a restore followed by a setup from new? No settings, etc from a backup?
Did you restore and then recover from backup? Or did you set it up as a new phone? Also, my phone was jailbroken before the upgrade. Has anyone had this problem who wasn't jailbroken?
Did a restore from backup earlier today which had no effect, just done a complete DFU restore and setup the device as a new phone. Will see if this makes any difference.
