iPhone OS 4 car integration

Dear all,
I'm facing a problem since yesterday's update of my iPhone 3G to iOS4.
I can't use it any longer with my car audio since I get the error message "no media found". This is on a new Renault Megane 3 with Arkamys Audio system. A similar problems occurs with Fiat's Blue & Me (also with an iPhone 3GS).
In some cases playback of music starts but crashes after a few seconds, alternatively it's showing the same effects as in the Renault. I found in the web a lot of people complaining about this problem with different audio systems. So, has anyone of you an idea about this problem, respectively an statement of Apple about this?
Regards
Christian

I have an iPhone 4 and a 2010 lexus 250 IS. My problem is that when I try to listen to music from an internet radio station while connected to the car, it will only play for a few seconds. The internet radio then pauses (I am not sure if the phone or car does this) and the ipod starts playing some random song. The same happens when I try to listen to anything else over the internet, like on YouTube.
Please help.

I have been having issues where my iphone (4.0.1) will not play properly through my Alpine W407BT that I purchased 2 weeks ago.

Alpine themselves have been a nightmare!!!!! Rather than admitting that they can't be bothered or even need to upgrade their bluetooth software they are intent on blaming my phone!

I even had to make a 110 mile round journey to my nearest Apple store (who were absolutley superb and even replaced my handset) just so I can prove to them there was nothing wrong with it. I was obviously not suprised when my replacement handset also didn't play audio once the bluetooth had connected!!!

Alpine now told me that:

"all iPhones have a similar issue, their bluetooth set up push all audio through the bluetooth when an adaptor is connected. This will mean that when you have audio playing through the iPod and then the bluetooth connects you will loose the audio. There are two ways to change this once this happens, the first is to go to the iPhone and then press ipod, at this point there is a bluetooth symbol, press this and then change to dock connector for audio to be played back through this method. The second is to wait until the iPhone connects to the bluetooth and then plug the iPhone in to the dock connector. Due to the iPhones software structure this is a setting that is not changeable on the iPhone."

I've told them that this is a complete joke and that if they want to sell something that they claim "works with Iphone" then they'd better read what this actually means

“an electronic accessory has been designed to connect specifically to, iPhone, and has been certified by the developer to meet Apple performance standards.”

Let's see if they can blag there way out of that then!!!!

I have an iphone 4, my pioneer unit in the car only uploads a few of my contacts (I mean about 8) when I sync the phone via bluetooth and when trying to play via the usb cable the pioneer shows a message of 'read format' The pioneer unit came supplied with my smart car, pioneer says that its an apple porblem, I'm just the poor old consumer stuck in the middle. The usb cable works fine with my ipod though, and the contacts upload fine from my wifes sony phone so I'm prone to think that is an apple fault.

If anyone is thinking of buying any Alpine products to work with their Iphone _DON'T_

I have just been told by Alpine themselves after 3 weeks of problems with my 3 week old £600 IXA W407BT (specifically designed to work with Iphone), a 110 mile round trip to replace a phone that is not faulty (on Alpine's recommendation) and many different excuses from there technical support team that:

"We have never said it works with iPhone 4 or OS4xx and this is clear in the reference section of our brochure, where we only mention compatibility with iPhone 3, OS3 etc."

"If we are asked about IPhone 4 or OS4 we always say that the unit is not compatible, as it was not designed to work with the new iPhone, or operating system."

Obviously this is not mentioned anywhere on their website or told to any dealers selling these units.

Renault have fixed this!
There is a cab file they will email you to update your USB in the car.

Simply stick it in and update the USB software through the audio settings.

Contact your local dealer to get it sent to you.

It worked for me and I am now listening to music from my iPhone 3GS again!!

Happy days...

I have a Jensen MSR 3007 radio that I have on my motorcycle, I have noticed a plug in the back where I whould be able to hook up my Iphone, I called Jensen and was told that they do not have a cable to hook up the Iphone because apple has not agreed to doing so yet any suggestions where I might be able to get the appropriate cable?

I also have major Bluetooth issues, with my Pioneer DEH-P7000BT. With my iPhone 3G, the phone would seamlessly switch from telephone bluetooth use to music bluetooth and vice-versa. When I upgraded to iOS4, the initial connection worked for both phone and music, and then after a few minutes, the music connection dropped, and then never reconnected again when I started my car. The telephone connection still works fine, but no music.

I have tried resetting the connection several times, and even connecting only the audio bluetooth, but I still have the same problem. The problem continued once I upgraded to iPhone 4. This is clearly an iOS4 issue. I gave up and just connect my phone using the aux input on my stereo. Bluetooth audio was much more convenient though. I only hope Apple fixes this problem.

I have a 3GS running iOS 4.1. The car is a Lexus with the original stereo setup (no idea what it is). Audio was working fine until i upgraded the iOS and now it is just terrible.

This isn't acceptable Apple. People in the real world do not have time to go running around getting firmware updates or in my case, have to take the car back to the dealership to get the radio updated because you have changed something. You need to look at what you have changed and change it back or allow us to roll back these updates
