Question

Drop calls still with iPhone 4

I just got my new iPhone 4 today and test it out with my old 3GS. I still have drop calls plus my 3GS has more bars than the new iPhone 4. *** can Apple and AT&T fix this problem. They both had 3 years to fix this problem. Does anybody else have this problem.

iMac 27 i7, Mac OS X (10.6.4), 16G iPhone 4, 32G iPad 3G+WiFi

Yes, Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal talks about it in his review of the phone. He doesn't recommend buying one if you are in a weak signal area, unless you carry a backup phone from another network.

Yep, same problem here, my 3GS always had 4-5 bars.

iPhone 4 in same area is getting zero to 1 bar if I am lucky.

I have only made 5 calls..... 4 out of the 5 got dropped !?!?!

I dont get it.

Ok I figured out the problem...Dont hold the phone in your hand...When I set it on the desk, then it takes a few seconds and I get 5 bars like I did with my 3GS...I guess you cant hold the phone in your hand, I thought the Internal Antenna Jobs bragged about was suppose to be good !?

I never had a drop call with first gen iphone. I got my new iphone 4 and shocker drop calls.

I could say more but its not worth the ranting.

People pay top dollar yet we get quality without service.

Oh please rem to unplug your iphone let it sit plug it back in wave magic wand and blow softly. you gamers know what I mean.

Same here in Moss Point, MS. MY 3G had ok reception unless it was next to my CPU

Iphone 4 drops calls like crazy. Constantly searching for network

Funny... because I thought the same thing. I've had 3 dropped calls today (3 out of 5). I left the phone on my desk, and used the ear buds, and it worked perfectly.

Just got the iphone 4 today, i had a phone coversation for four minutes with a person wich within that time frame i had four dropped calls! very unhappy this problem better be resolved or I think atts contract should be voided and money returned. The phone itself is cool, but what good is a phone it cant stay connected.

So what you telling me I have a desktop phone. Works only when it on a desk. I think Apple should go back to the drawing board and design a better phone that works and AT&T should should stop been a phone company.

This is horrendous! I have not been looking to this experience. We have been, I suspect, lied to. We've been sold the design which is flawed and can't work if you're holding your CELL PHONE IN YOUR HAND! What???!!! This baby will go back to Apple in a hurry if this gets proven to be the case! And NO replacement, either!

You have thirty (30) days in which to return the iPhone 4. If problem persists, do that, go back to your previous model, and wait until Apple / AT&T get their act together.

I'll wait till 30 days or so till they upgrade the spfeware 4.01 and then I bring back the phone if it's doesn't work.

It looks like when you put your hand around the steel frame after 5-15 seconds you start to lose the bars and then the the call. It looks like Apple has to redesign the iPhone again.
