Flawed screen

I got my 32gb iphone 4 just now from fedex. I just noticed a flaw on my display. It wasn't very obvious, i was messing with the phone for a good 45 minutes till i even spotted it. On the bottom 10% of the screen there are 3 blotches about the size of shirt buttons that discolor the screen a brown/yellow color.

Again hardly noticeable at first but now that i know it's there my eyes get drawn too it. Shows up well when its a white background. I was hoping it was just some grime but wiping down the front didn't help. Oh well, guess i'll hang onto it until apple gets a few more in stock and trade it in a few weeks from now.

Any chance this has to do with heat exposure? Discoloration in only certain areas (on edges it seems principally) strikes me as possibly temperature induced, possibly reversible over time if kept at proper conditions, and hopefully not widespread if the device has not been baking in a FedEx truck all day.

The reason I ask is that it is hotter than blazes in Chicago today, and I wonder if we will see that iPhone 4s bought at Apple Stores tomorrow do not have this problem because they were not rolling around in 90+ degree storage for hours.

There's no way I'd refuse delivery...take the phone and then call an Apple Store for a Genius appointment. (Assuming you have one close.) I guess if you don't have an Apple Store close...I'd still accept delivery, get everything switched over and then go through the return process. That way you're all setup and will continue to get a new phone until you get the right one. Typically, Apple will send you a new unit and then you send the old one back to them...

If this is prevalent, which it sounds like it is becoming, perhaps I should refuse delivery when it comes. This is disappointing as I was one of the many yellow screen 3Gs purchasers. I wonder if any were unflawed.

My screen seems fine as good as I can see. I've looked for all the described flaws and find none of them.

Just got my phone, sailed through setup and then noticed a yellowy line across bottom. I am on the phone with Apple right now. He has had me do a bunch of restores. None of them worked. I am disappointed. He then called it imminent hardware failure. Said he was going to see about getting me a new one sent. Still on phone waiting. I am now having big regrets.

I am guessing this is the pixels increase in such a small size screen the same things goes with the IPS panel that apple had with their 27 inch imac and 21 inch imac the size is small but with a pixel dimension of high definition higher than any LCD TV panel out there, you gotta understand that the pixel increase in a small screen would cause some defects, and this is because of such new technology no screen is perfect but with this increase in pixels in such a small screen there would be some panel problems, you gotta understand the 27 inch display on the imac has the resolution of a 54 inch screen display, this is being crunch into a 27 inch display so the same problem is happening to the 3.5 inch display your increasing pixel counts but keeping the same dimension of the screen, highly possible the problem is that you need to make a bigger screen to fit more pixels. I highly see this a problem and a technology that is still in its infancy.
