Flawed screen

I got my 32gb iphone 4 just now from fedex. I just noticed a flaw on my display. It wasn't very obvious, i was messing with the phone for a good 45 minutes till i even spotted it. On the bottom 10% of the screen there are 3 blotches about the size of shirt buttons that discolor the screen a brown/yellow color.

Again hardly noticeable at first but now that i know it's there my eyes get drawn too it. Shows up well when its a white background. I was hoping it was just some grime but wiping down the front didn't help. Oh well, guess i'll hang onto it until apple gets a few more in stock and trade it in a few weeks from now.

Two spots bottom right.
One spot top left.

Maybe the orange spots are leopard spots... Perhaps iOS4 is a variant of snow leopard and its "showing its colors?"

(just kidding... Hope you guys get this figured out).

Is anyone noticing a change in the brown discoloration?

It seems like it was worse right out of the box. It is still there on my phone, but is definitely fainter than it was.

I have, segan. After I read your post I checked and it wasn't as obvious. Then after a 20 minute call I noticed the phone was warm, which is typical of any phone, and the spots were larger and visible on all four corners.

I would not jump to conclusions yet. Manufacturing defects are a fact of life, and forums do not help lessen the panic. I feel for the people with screen problems as I am expecting my iPhone 4 tomorrow and would be upset if mine has a problem. I have only seen 25-30 posts about people with this problem (over multiple websites), which is a very small number considering how many were delivered yesterday and today. If you do receive a defective product you should not worry because you are buying from Apple, who will take care of you and your new phone, after all this is one of the reasons Apple items costs more than other companies. Your paying for a premium product and you will get one if the first is messed up, so don't worry. I can't wait for mine to arrive, inspect it and enjoy it. I wouldn't be canceling orders unless you have seen thousands of posts claiming defective items and not just a handful.

I have a 16GB iPhone 4, and I am having this issue as well 2 spots, bottom left.

I called Apple and at least had a case opened up about it. I will go into a store in a week or two after things settle down.

Also noticed these blackish marks near the top. I'll be getting on the Genius Bar bandwagon shortly.

FYI, same problem. It's only visible with certain functions and apps, generally when the screen is brighter. I suspect this will be a widespread problem.

I have a yellowish dot on the upper left - 16gb black ofcourse.

Called apple 2x, noone seems to know anything they are finding out themselves, and I made it to a tier 2 rep but he put me on hold only to disconnect me, not happy at all. 2 hang ups, no return calls. Will call tomorrow.
