I got my 32gb iphone 4 just now from fedex. I just noticed a flaw on my display. It wasn't very obvious, i was messing with the phone for a good 45 minutes till i even spotted it. On the bottom 10% of the screen there are 3 blotches about the size of shirt buttons that discolor the screen a brown/yellow color.
Again hardly noticeable at first but now that i know it's there my eyes get drawn too it. Shows up well when its a white background. I was hoping it was just some grime but wiping down the front didn't help. Oh well, guess i'll hang onto it until apple gets a few more in stock and trade it in a few weeks from now.
Oh, great. I'm supposed to get mine today and now I am going to worry whether it will have this new screen flaw. When I preordered my 3Gs, it came with the infamous bright yellow screen and I went through a lot of hassle. I hoped there wouldn't be problems this time with this version.
I'm on hold with tech support right now while they look into what i can do. Sound like I'm the first one too call for this so i guess that's good. I'll let you know what happens.
i have it too in the upper left hand corner. called my lucky store and made an appt for tomorrow. said they'll take care of it .. so if it's unfixable (which i'm going to have to say that it is) i guess they keep extra stock to replace when needed ..
If this is prevalent, which it sounds like it is becoming, perhaps I should refuse delivery when it comes. This is disappointing as I was one of the many yellow screen 3Gs purchasers. I wonder if any were unflawed.
Yep I've got an orange/brown (almost burnt color) blob at the bottom right corner and top right corner. There's also orange/brown smudges across the top.
It's hard to see unless there's a gray toolbar or if you view a white photo full screen.
I've got the same problem--yellowish blob in the top left corner of the screen.
I'm a nature photographer, and use my iPhone to show off my work. The discoloration is significant enough to be easily noticeable when viewing photos. Disappointing. 😟
Hopefully after tomorrow's mad rush I can get something set up w/ my Apple store to address. I'm hoping I won't get any pushback.
Other than the discoloration, the screen is quite nice. The extra detail from the higher resolution is fantastic when viewing web pages, and photos look very crisp and sharp.
Macrumors folks are also reporting yellow dots or lines. They've got a couple of threads and a poll on it. Maybe someone will figure out a fix or maybe it'll disappear after a little while.
Ya that's just what mine looks like too elitemrp, but 5 of those blobs. I used one of those flashlight apps to turn my screen all white and they really show up. I ended up noticing that it's on the top of the screen as well.
On the upside this is first time I've dealt with apple tech support and it's been really good so far. There still looking into a solution though, sounds like they aren't full set to field iphone 4 problems till tomorrow. The guy helping me said he wont have the tech support software for the iphone 4 till tomorrow cause no one was suppose to have it yet. Kind of a fumble IMO, even apple said some ppl are getting it on the 23rd. Ultimately it's going to be a return, just not sure if I'll have to wait till that stamp out more phones or what.
I did a post to try and see if there were any who got good screens and how bad the flawed screen situation looks and they deleted my post. Guess people don"t want others to know.

It has nothing to do with them not wanting people to know. It's no conspiracy. Heck, these forums are full of people doing nothing but complaining about Apple products. The terms of use of the forum, which you agreed to, specifically forbid doing any census taking or polling. Those types of posts are deleted immediately.
