Orientation Not Working

Just got my new phone, but the switch from landscape to portrait and back. NO the orientation button is not locked. On phone with Apple now...this *****.

Having the same problem. Orientation locks in portrait mode all day. Rebooted phone and bingo it's working again. Hope this doesn't keep up. Day one with my new iphone 4 and I'm already spooked about yellow screens and antenna touching... No problems with any of the publicized stuff just this orientation thing.

hey guys i'm on iphone 4 and 4.0.1 and am having the same problem and have to hard reboot home + power to get it working but then just freeze's again in an hour or so every time. games that use accelerometer get stuck to and cant steer. any solution yet?

Same problem here :@

Works if i bring up the orientation lock and enable, then disable the lock. Then it's stuck again.

Reboot fixes, but only for maybe a few hours...pos

Mine stopped working when my kid dropped the iP4 on the floor (wood floor from about 2 feet up). I kind of tapped it (not hard) on the desk in the other orientation on the edge of the unit (volume button edge) and it started working again without doing anything else. I had previously tried all the software fixes listed above in this forum thread but to no avail. Obviously, it's a hardware issue and needed to be booted literally (ie. with a real boot).
