I had an itouch 2g 8gb with 4.1 ios worked perfectly for me
Now I have a 2g 32gb with 4.2.1 ios but it too slow, I noticed the same problem with my friend's 16gb
Any solution for this problem! how do I make my ipod touch 2g 32gb work as my 8g did?
is it jailbroken?
Yes it is, I noticed that problem only with 16 and 32gb
When you jailbreak it and download the modified software, it makes the ipod run slower.
What's the situation with the iOS4.2 - is it just as slow and battery draining as the iOS4? Thanks!
Is 5.0 going to be released got the iPod Touch 2G?
Care to put 5 minutes of your time alone with Google before posting? - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOS_version_history - says clearly that iOS5 in not supported, and many sites discuss that it is not.
How do I unsubscribe from dumb posts?
Ah, yuri, give the guy a break. đ Many of us liking asking questions to a friendly community where someone will know the correct answer and chime in quickly rather than having to Google and end up with contradictory information!
Of course, the grammar of the post is another matter! đ
I never even thought of trying iOS 5 given that I'm too scared of iOS 4! But I can understand someone hoping that it might fix iOS 4 issues!
@AstroMacMan So you are on 3.1.3 - ? If so, how?
I have installed the unjailed version, but 3.1 becomes outdated with many apps complaining.
Just never upgraded given all the complaints about battery life. There are only 1 or 2 apps that I use on iOS 4 devices that I might like on the IPT, so it's no big deal. And those are ones that I rarely use anyway!
Plus, there are at least 5 apps any way that I never upgrade because their newer versions (even if they work on iOS 3.1.3) have changed the interface or undermined in some other way what were good products!
Most of the problems mentioned here, I had as well. I should just run down a list of things that went wrong with the upgrade to iOS4:
* Sluggish resize and rotate
* Safari freezes, crashes
* Safari started constantly reporting out of memory errors
* Safari frequently requiring me to click a link or feature two times in order to get it to respond
* Safari doesn't know what to do about placing transparent layers on many webapges
* Safari can't handle text entry very well
* Mercury (paid version) also constantly reporting out of memory errors
* Opening photo libraries slow
* Pausing or adjusting tracking on streaming video has become unmanageable
* Wi-fi trouble that never existed before
* Lower battery life
* It's like there's something constantly running in the background competing for CPU usage
* And like there's something constantly running in the background that is competing for wi-fi usage
I stay with the ipod touch 2g because there are features like microphone, camera, and GPS that I don't want. 2g is simple and elegant. I would really like to get this little palmtop computer back in running shape, because now it's like Apple has turned it into a broken-down toy.
