iPhone 4 and UConnect

Has anyone tried to get their iPhone 4 to pair with a UConnect hands-free system? I've tried to pair the phone but it won't pair. Any suggestions on how to make this work?

I can confirm----at least in my circumstances----theat iOS 4.0.2 and MyGig Firmware 1.295 work perfectly together on a myGig version RER radio.

The key is to DOWNGRADE the Harmon Becker Firmware to 1.220 or 1.295...

any version higher 2.043---2.045---2.107......will NOT work consistently at all.

I am sure Apple or Harmon Becker will fix this in the future----but for now----this will work.

and truth be told----when I downgraded the firmware-----I did not feel like I lost anything on the myGig----at least any features I recognized or used....it didn't feel like a downgrade at all.....

The only significant difference to me in downgrading to RER_1.295 is that when I have more than one telephone number stored for a contact I don't get to choose which number I want dialed. When I have the 2.105 working I am given that choice. I will continue to use RER_1.295 until Apple or Chrysler fix the problem, but neither company seems interested in getting it fixed.

Make sure you go through the procedure to submit Official Apple feedback---- that is the way to get apple working on this--- if enough people turn in feedback.

The moderator of the myGig forum says that Harmon Becker is aware and working on a fix. Let,s hope that is the case.

I am curious--- do you have the numbers listed as "Home", "Work" and "Mobile" in your iPhone? That is what I have and I simply say " Call Bob Smith Mobile" into MyGig and it dials the correct number. Same way with "Home" or "Work". Just identify which number to call after the name and it will do it.

One trick I did run into was that myGig won't find a Business number if you have entered the Business name into the Business line of the Contact form in the iPhone---- Just put the whole name of the business into the "First Name" line of the Contact form in the iPhone and MyGig will find it now just fine.

I am in awe of the ingenuity and self-reliance of this group. johnrr6's fix worked perfectly to make my Iphone 4 completely compatible wih my new 2011 Jeep GC. All the connectivity problems went away upon installing 1.295
Now then, I suppose I should have thought of this, but in the process of back-installing the firmware, I seem to have wiped out the Navteq database on the UConnect system. In other words, there seem to be no preloaded locations (stores, gas stations, etc.) In fact, it won't even search by name for "POI's"
Thoughts?

Hi Everyone, This is by far the best info I have recieved regarding this issue. I too have an Iphone4 and a 2010 Dodge RAM with all the bell and whistles. Radio RER. I followed the advice in the earlier post and downgraded to 1.295...Iphone works great now however I lost the voice recognition to change radio stations etc and probably points of interest. To be honest, I could care less. The Iphone/Uconnect is much more important in my opinion and whenever you backdate a firmware or driver you are bound to lose some functionality. Cannot have your cake and eat it too. People that are looking for fixing the points of interest or other things after downgrading, come on , give it a rest. This was great info in the first place that I couldn't find anywhere including the dealer! Thank you to the post with the info and link to the software, much appreciated!

my phone is paired, but does not work properly.

Uconnect activates when a call comes in as well as the phone itself rings.
when you answer with the uconnect, it does nothing. you can hear the person that is calling you but they can't hear you and the call disconnects.

you would think that after 4 months, they would have some sort of fix for this.
