Signal issues? You're holding the phone wrong.

In case the Apple support forums are your first stop on your search for why your signal is dropping when you hold your phone, Steve Jobs and Apple consider it a "non issue" and to "avoid holding in that way".

"Gripping any phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases."

crisis is an oil spill or 2012 end of the world being true, not iphone reception issues but its still a major issue for people who purchased the iphone 4. I still have mine on preorder..

I just bought some apps for the first time for when I get my iphone..

I have bought, couple of cheap face manipulation apps, fatbooth and oldagebooth..

Ive also bought iMovie because its far better to edit and save video in any format you need and size than the iphone itself can.

Ive also bought tetris cuz ive had that on every phone ive ever owned so I had to get it for iphone and being touch instead shud be fun..

Bejewled 2 aswell cuz I thought ive got tetris so why not have a folder with both of these classics in.. and name it classics or games etc..

Ive also bought a weird zombie top down shooter ish game

Shorting the 2 antennas is not the problem. I dunno when ppl are going to realize it. I've tried 3 layers of tape, a thick rubber band, a silicone case, and Apples own bumper case. None of them solve the problem. Its likely a bug in the software. Just a theory, but perhaps the software isn't kicking up the power on the antenna when you cover it. (like all cellphones do) Again, just an example of how it can be a software problem.

3GS may have the bars go down, but does not do the same thing. I hold my iPhone 4 the exact same way as my 3GS and I only had a dropped call once in a blue moon or in known dead areas. Now I'm lucky if I get a minute out of a call with my phone in my left hand. I'm right-handed so I hold it in my left when I use the apps or surf the web, but with my iPhone 4 I can't do that anymore!
