Has anyone experienced any numbness in their hand after holding the phone?

I am definitely noticing the numbness. Some people are more sensitive to it than others. I used to experience numbness with older phones when I held them up my ear, and now I'm definitely noticing it with the iPhone 4, presumably because of the new antenna (and I've had all 3 previous models without issue). You're not alone / crazy 🙂

I noticed it when I was holding it in an uncomfortable fashion due to Steve Jobs insisting I was holding it wrong. When I purchased a case to cover the iPhone and went back to holding it in the meat of my hand, the issue went away. I'll add that I have a chronic, but very mild and mitigated version of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Yes, you both are. There is *no way* in the physical world for any radiation from the phone to cause numbness. I repeat, _NO WAY_. If you had 1/2 a scientific brain, you'd understand this.

Just where is the numbness? If it's the thumb and 2nd and 3rd digits, it's a median nerve problem from either C spine foraminal stenosis or it's carpal tunnel syndrome. If it's the 4th and 5th digits it's an ulnar nerve problem from your wrist, elbow, or C spine. If you really have numbness, go see an orthopedic surgeon.

So today is the only day I had my iPhone out of a case since the Apple Store release day I decided to do the whole Zagg shield front and back I had to take the case off because the front Zagg shield kept coming off on the left side. But as I have been holding the iPhone no case the metal sides have actually been making my hand numb and part of my arm I was holding it with my right hand so I tried holding it in my left hand same thing and the numbness actually gets worse and If I am holding it on the sides and scroll down on the touch screen thru a website or web page you can feel a static discharge when scrolling I actually had to set the phone on a table because it got so bad I never experienced this with the iPhone 3G or 3GS. When I had a case on it no issues metal and current never a good mix at least on the part you need to hold on to. It could be bad shielding or a bad batch of phones its bound to happen with products in this world nothings is full proof but yes I am having the same issue as you.

OMG! What next? Next thing we are going to hear is that LED camera flash is causing blindness! Holding any small object in the air for long periods of time can cause numbness in some cases with some people. It is not another defect on of the iPhone.
