Update I took the phone to the apple store to have a genius look at it just to be safe and you know how the genius bar has the wood table I just set the phone on there for them to check it out and as strange as this seems the back of the phone was sticking to the table with some magnet charge it was not so much as to you not being able to pick it up it was like pulling two magnets apart that sort of thing but apple replaced it and no issues since. So I don’t think Apple is trying to screw its customers over I think these sorts of things happen? The world is not perfect but Apple has always done right by me they will replace it if any sort of issues happen. But I strongly advise you to schedule a genius appointment at your local Apple Store to have them check it out in my case there was valid truth two genius people saw and felt the same things I was talking about but they will take care of you don’t let others tell you your wrong only you know the issues your having with the phone just get a factual basis from a tech just to be safe replacing the phone ***** but its sometimes the simplest thing to do just make a backup of the phone thru iTunes before you take it to the store that way you can restore to new phone incase it get replaced good luck!

I have this same problem... I have a handsfree kit and rarely use the phone by holding it to my ear. The main numbness is in my little finger on my left hand. But it does travel up into my forearm. I find if I am holding the phone in the portrait position I rest it on my little finger. At this point my finger is on the USB charger/ connection port. I have a rubber case all the way around the antenna so it cant be that. The only thing I can think of is this port. Is it possible for a very small yet constant electric current being passed through my hand??

You think it's the antenna being to close? Some people say cell phones can be dangerous I wonder if the antenna being on the outside makes it worse?

No. The FCC tests for RF absorption in the skin and if it was putting out an amount that was considered dangerous then it would not have gotten it's FCC certification.

Not unless your finger is small enough to actually fit inside the port to make contact with the connections inside. You are reaching here pretty hard.

First it was an antenna issue and then apple solved that by giving away free cases. Now it is numbness. What will these fools think of next to try and get a total recall of the phone. Apparently you have a problem of not getting your way so you invent something new to get back at apple.

ummm. The retina display causes early onset of Macular degeneration?
