Iphone 4 keeps freezing up

This could be the New IOS4 but I have had several instances where someone was trying to call me and it would not let me answer the call. Screens keep freezing on me and the synchronization of when it turns off the screen is all messed up.

Anyone else having this issue?

Dell Studio, Windows 7

My iphone 5 was freezing occasionally, restoring and turning it on and off didn't solve the issue, it turned out that the screen on my phone was a little loose. I had it fixed but then it happened again, now if the phone freezes I push down the top right side of the screen very gently and the problem is solved.

HHow long does this apparently common problem have to go on for before Apple take their head out of the sand and fix it.

i see questions going back to 2011 and yet today, my phone has yet again frozen up!

it only happens when I try to 'slide to unlock' it only only happens at that time and to resolve it I have to switch the phone off and then turn it on again. Then it works for a while until at some date it does it again. It has done it twice today!!

yet a few months ago when I spoke with an apple techie I was told its down to the covering on the screen. I did try to explain that in that case it wouldn't make any difference switching it off but he had this firmly fixed in his head.

YOu ou could understand it if it was a cheap phone but when you pay 500£ for something from such a prestigious company you expect it to work or at least be fixable by the people who make it.

it would be terrible to think that it is just a good way of getting you to buy a new one but I guess I just feel a bit cheated that a flimsy piece of film over the screen is being blamed for what appears to be a bug

iOS7 normally works fine on iPhone 4.

If someone's been inside, ask them to check it's back together properly.

After a firmware update or battery change, it's sometimes necessary to do a factory/hard reset, as described here. This is normally a permanent solution.

If you still have the problem, phone Apple Support, who will advise on iPhone 4. In the UK, that's 0800 107 6285 08:00-19:45 (7 days).

If that doesn't work, locate your nearest Apple store, drive there with a petrol can, and set fire to your phone. At least you'll feel better, even if you do leave in handcuffs.
