"Cannot connect to iTunes Store" - iPhone 4

My iPhone 4 won't connect to iTunes (Sometimes it does, most of the time it won't). I have full signal strength on 3G network. I never had a problem connecting with my 3GS iPhone.

Anyone else on here having issues with connecting to ITunes Store (App store) via your new iPhone 4?

Also, I'm posting this message from my iPhone 4 now and it's taking a few tries because I keep getting the following message: "Cannot Open Page. Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found"

Wonder what's wrong??

Hello.

I'm in the UK with an iphone 4 with Three Network on an unlimited data plan. My iphone was new in Jan. It started with the problems highlighted above about 2 weeks ago. Very sporadic 3G usually resulting in a small wheel spinning at the top of the screen as it tries for about 30 seconds to access the internet then comes up with a message like "cannot access safari as no cellular data. This message is regardless of how many 3G reception bars are showing and I have tested this by standing meters away from a 3 network mast with full signal strength. It stalls randomly and works randomly. I have spent hours to three's indian call center and they have not been able to resolve the issue. I drove 10 miles and demonstrated this instore to the manager of a 3 store and he gave me a new sim card before directing me to apple for a repair. I drove an hour up the motorway (and back) and demonstrated the problem to Apple at the Metro centre. They gave me a brand new phone. I now have a brand new phone with EXACTLY the same problem. It was set up on itunes as a new phone and I deleted all backups on itunes to ensure nothing was carried across from my previous 4 month old phone. Occasionally I can force it to work by resetting the phone but it is a one off fix then back to the problem again and it doesn't always work.

I have spent hours and hours on this with no result and Apple and 3 scratching their heads whilst i pay out £35/month for the unlimited data which I can't access.

I an tempted to stop paying the monthly fee and write to customer services explaining why as at the moment I simply own a useless piece of glass and metal. To be fair the phone side of it works great but 3G/data is useless as the whole function of the phone revolves around internet access. Incidently I upgraded to 3.3.3 this morning and kept my fingers crossed but NO. What more do I need to do as a customer of both Apple and Three Network to get what I signed up for? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

I had the same problem with a brand new iPhone 4. I am new iTunes and it took a bit to get through signing up with Apple. After a few false starts going through verification, etc., I finally got logged onto iTunes on my desktop, but my phone was still giving the "Cannot connect to iTunes store" error every time I tried to login. I made sure I was logged out on my desktop, and I also had to launch the iTunes software on the phone and login through it. That seemed to free up all of the other logins and kept my login info under Settings>Store. Now all is right with the world.

The same happened to me, im live in Colombia and i had an iphone 4, today (june 26) i've notice that i couldn't connect to the app and itunes stores from my phone using the cellular data connection (EDGE or 3G) but it works with WIFI, i tried reboot the phone, delete the ibook and other apps without luck... i dont know but maybe the root of the problem can be the migration to the icloud... meanwhile the apple support find the solution i will put my headphone and enjoy some tunes!

Having the same problem as the rest. Could not update or download new apps when phone is connected to 3G.

It works perfectly fine when connecting to WIFI. This happens when updated to iOS 4.3.4 and I thought updating to iOS 4.3.5 would solve the problem. Apparently, it doesn't make a difference.

Any idea what else can be done?

Here's what worked for me:

I purchased a new iPhone 4 for the wifey and was updating and configuring it for her when I hit the snag others are reporting here that prevented me from accessing the App Store. Then I tried it from my iPhone 4 and had the same problem. Not sure why because I've been able to access and update apps from the App Store without any problem on my phone until tonight.

Anyway, I turned off the Wifi and launched the App Store and it worked. I turned the wifi on again and it worked with wifi. What a hassle. It's 1:00am and I've been fighting this for three hours. :-(

Had this problem on on the iPad and the iPhone. I did a complete restore on the iPad, that took a long time. I went to Itunes library on the MAC but it would still not update all the apps. When the restore was completed I still had over 100 apps that needed to be updated on the device directly. It did start to work correctly with the restore. I did not have to reset ibooks on the iPad.

On the iPhone what worked was going to ibooks and verifying that the account email and PW match what your using in itunes. It appears that it nows wants a email address vs just the acount ID. Onces I fixed that it started updating. I did not have to delete iBooks.

I performed all the other simple stuff like hard reboot, turn 3G on/off wiFi on/off but non of that worked for me.

Now if I could just get the iPhone 3 to not be SOOOO slow
