"Cannot connect to iTunes Store" - iPhone 4

I have the same problem with the iPhone 4, nothing works. I tried turning off my phone and everything. It worked fine yesterday.

3G S, wi-fi: Same problem, Safari works ,AppStore sometimes works good, not always.It's really strange for 9 nine pages list of reports and no one solution from Apple

I can't say i'm having this exact problem. but today safari on my ipad 2 was having a hard time loading pages and on the same day my friend can't even use his 3g signal on his iphone 4 despite the fact it was supposedly on--and almost full bars! (I checked the settings.) Now if anything I said is relevant, I pose the question: is this the iphone 4's/ipad 2's fault, ios 4's fault, or at&t's fault? (both my ipad and his iphone ran on at&t 3g.)

I initially had the same problem with the 3GS when I did the update. Then I purchased the iPhone 4 and used the backup from my 3GS iPhone to begin using my new iPhone 4. Since the day I purchased it and restored from my previous backup from 3GS, I had the same problem. I can't open the App Store. My ipod doesn't work. A song continues to play repeatedly until reset the phone. AND still there's no answer to this problem. I'm an upset customer...however, I still have faith that Apple will fix this. ugh....

I just had the same problem. I found the issue. Some how my Apple Id got switched. Went in there reloged and it now is fine.

having the same problem with my iphone 4..and its irritating!!!i brought my phone to the apple centre, they manage to resolve the issue at first but 2 days later, the same problem repeat t self!!=(

My husband solved this by removing all my apps and reinstalling them - some of them came from his account (when we used to share an account). This seemed to completely solve the problem

This is EXACTLY what is happening to me, what did you do?!

In my case I tried almost everything what people are writing here but one thing actually helped me and it was pretty easy but I was looking for it for ages - so what I did -

Settings -> App Store -> Apple Id - I refreshed (wrote) it one more time and that was it -> Restart Iphone

I'm having this issue with my iPhone 4 for the first time today. I turned my phone off and on again, wouldnt't work. I went to settings like some suggested on here, and signed out to try to sign back in again, but now it won't let me sign back in at all and I just get the "cannot connect to itunes store" message. I just downloaded an app with no problems last night, and now this message is happening. Not sure what else to do :-/

Have you tried the email address for the Apple Id. Some people arent aware that they changed their Apple Id to an email address. Try an email address like icloud.com or what ever other email you are using.

Yours is the ONLY solution that worked for me. Tried everything else and no dice until trying this (above). The issue appears to be that you can't access the iTunes Store on an iPhone unless you are logged into ALL of the apps that require your Apple ID (iTunes Store, iBooks and Game Center).

I had the problem too over 3G. I connected to Wifi at job 1, and there was no problem....two days later I connected to Wifi at job 2...and it gave the same error. I thought about what the possible difference could be. Through trial and error I realized that it give me that error if I was connected to a Wifi with a login needed (a secure network). I figured that out because it errored at home and job 2...but when I came back to job 1...it's unsecured and lo and behold it just worked again...so, that's weird, but I will try next time at another unsecured to make sure. Hope that helps someone.
