Iphone 4, iOS 4
I have the same problem with my iPhone 4 32g. Hope a fix comes soon!
Two iPhone 4s running 4.3. They've begun refusing to unlock to accept incoming calls. Only happens 1 in 50 calls... But quite annoying. I don't remember having the problem in the past.
I got my iPhone 4 16 GB replaced twice for this problem, but could not get rid of it. I've been using iOS 4.3 to 4.3.2 but the problem stays, even after reboot, reset with no apps nor documents on board. It still happens up to 6 times a day and makes the phone unusable. VERY FRUSTRATING !
good golly this is nasty problem. i may be ready to go back to the good ol flip phone. been using iphone 3, then 3gs with no prob and now i got the new iphone 4 wha la....... if you only answer 1/2 the calls its a good way to cut back on minutes i guess
Having the same problem, here is what i have done chronologically to no avail-
1. Restored the phone to factory condition, reinstalled from backup.
2. Restored the phone to factory condition, started over as a new phone.
3. Genius bar- found nothing wrong with phone but replaced with a brand new phone.
4. New phone- restored from backup.
5. New phone- restored to factory then start over as a new phone.
Problem STILL occuring!!!!!

PS- No screen protector being used
I have the same problem, occasionally, on my 3G. A search on the web reveals similar reports on many forums. There are some supposed 'solutions' but none of them have the ring of truth to them. I guess you are just supposed to let it go and call back. I seldom have any problem sliding the slider when the phone is not ringing (and never to the extent it when the phone is ringing).
I can't believe Apple is not out there with some sort of fix to this, which seems obviously to be a software problem. After all, it's a freaking phone! It's supposed to let you answer when someone calls.
Does anyone at Apple monitor these discussions? Is the lack of a response because Apple doesn't have one?
I have had this problem since my 3GS and now with my iPhone4. It is unbelievable that anyone (and particulartly Apple) can continue to sell a phone that will not answer some calls.
It is even more unbelievable that they continue to ignore this. Perhaps everyone with an iphone should start emailing every computer magazine and writer, and newspapers complaining about this. The inability to answer calls is a far more serious problem than personal location data being stored!
I don't really care if anyone wants to wade through reams of data to find out where I was yesterday, but I do care if I cannot answer important calls.
Hey - I have the same problem. Somebody said it happens on 5-10% of incoming calls.. that sounds like about the same frequency that I am experiencing. It's pretty embarrassing since I have a goofy ring tone. This is on my AT&T iPhone 4. The phone rings, and there is a slider that says something like "slide to answer." I try to slide it with my finger, but the control doesn't move and the phone keeps ringing.
