Can anyone recommend a case similar to StealthArmor? Ie not really a case, just a very fine scratch-proof layer. Most importantly though, I'm looking for one that will resolve the attenuation problem when bridging the black bar - I'm sure if a protective shield was made with the right material this would be possible.

I don't want any rubber or anything, I want the phone to look like it did out of the box (although would be open to 'skins').

Cheers

In search for a good case, you should lookout for cases that do not cover the back. Even cases with holes for both camera and flash will REFLECT the flash, so there will always be an annoying glare on photos taken with flash.

Not the case I'm using. It's all in how big and how reflecting the cutout is.

Bumper just has a bigger cut out than most 🙂

I agree with you that the Griffin reveal is the best. The girl at best buy even liked the case because it went on as soon as the phone came out of the box today. I like the feel of it and you are right, you can still use everything that you were using before. I did have to remove the adapter in my ihome dock but no big deal as it was designed for the curved iphone 3g and 3gs.

yup. the griffin reveal is my choice so far.

i liked the look of the apple bumper so
i bought that too...promptly returned it when
i found it didn't feel as secure in my hand
as the reveal.

i don't want to find out what happens if i drop
this thing!

I have the Belkin Grip Vue and I love the case, especially how it gives the back of the phone a kind of smokey gray appearance yet you can really see how cool the phone looks. My problem is taking flash photographs! In some light, they are fine, but in some lighting conditions, there is a weird glare in the picture that I at first thought was the flash itself. Now that I'm reading here about the reflection issue with some cases, I'm wondering if this isn't what is happening here. Very annoying because besides that I absolutely LOVE this case. 😟

For the person who was wondering about the cover for the screen for his wife, but a Zagg Invisishield on it. I had one on my 3GS and now on my 4 and I wouldn't go without it. The phone is in my pocket and my purse all the time and has never been damaged.

To the person compaining about there not being a protective cover over the camera lens, if you cover the lens your pictures are going to be crappy. I would never want to cover the camera on a phone, and I've never had an issue with broken camera lens. Not sure where you're coming from with that one.
