iPhone 4/iOS 4 bluetooth muffled on other end

I don't know if it's the phone or the OS, but my headset worked fine with my iPhone 2g. On my new iPhone 4, every bluetooth headset I use connects fine and I can hear the caller perfect. Except, they say it sounds like there's a pillow over my mouth when I talk. To the point of not even recognizing what I say. I tried calling the house, and I can barely hear myself, and it will cut in and out. Anyone else getting this issue?

Do you mean Apple figured that out? Or you mean people figured that out on this thread? There is a difference here. We figure it out is one thing, but if Apple comes to the same conclusion, this further confirms that muffled voice fix is very likely in 4.1. Otherwise, is it just the connection drop fix?

I mean Apple figured that out. They confirmed it to me in my defect which has now been marked 'Closed' - not duplicate like most I open 😉

We went back and forth over a couple of weeks and they declared it fixed in 4.1 beta 3. My testing confirms. I hope others will validate with different headset combinations. Apple has asked me to reopen the defect if any new headsets are discovered that don't work correctly (with respect to audio quality) under beta 3.

I Just got the iPhone4 this month. I have the Planatronics Voyager Pro since March of 2010. It worked well with my Blackberry, never had a problem. On the iphone4 i am told i sound muffled and the bluetooth drops connection to the phone; however it does reconnect, but can be a bit annoying.

I have called Apple Support a few times, end result they replaced my phone after 2 weeks of having it. Phone replacement does not resolve the issue.
Apple needs to respond to these complaints and resolve this issue. I have 2 more weeks before my 30 day time expires and i am strongly considering going back to Blackberry.

This issue has been resolved in iOS 4.1 beta 3. All signs point to a final release of 4.1 to the public very soon. Just hang in there a bit longer.
