Bluetooth callers can't hear me

For my home phone system I have the VTech DS6322 cordless phone system which features a bluetooth enabled base station for connecting to cell phones. I can receive and make calls on my iPhone from one of the four cordless handsets throughout my house. Although the system worked flawlessly with my iPhone 3G, ever since upgrading to the iPhone 4 callers can not hear me very well when using the bluetooth connection even though I can hear them just fine. They say it sounds is if I'm muffling the handset, or not speaking into the mic.

Anyone know of a fix for this. As I mentioned, the system worked great with my iPhone 3G.

Thanks Compusmith, I was on the phone with Apple today 2 x and the result is they are aware of this issue, and will let me know if the software update coming will solve this. I tried many things with them like network reset, wifi on and off, apps off, forgetting the bluetooth and re-linking it. all to the same issue where it works randomly. some calls are GREAT, some are fair and some are marginal. In all instances I can hear my party GREAT, it's them that can not hear me.

I will keep you posted on how this progresses.

I am having voice quality issues with the Voyager pro - most people on the other end of the call complain about my voice quality when using the headset; but claim my voice is super clear when I don't use the headset from the same location... Clearly an issue with the the bluetooth implementation (I used the same headset with a blackberry without any such quality issues from the same location).

It appears that the 4.1 update will resolve most of these issues, when it's released. I know it's in beta now, and I have seen reports that it resolves the muffled and scratchy call quality and the continuous disconnect/reconnect with some headsets when not on a call.

I do not know WHEN this update will be released, but it seems to fix these, among others (like iPhoto syncing form the camera roll). Just be patient for a little while longer. I know it's hard to do that, especially as I am having the same issues, and I am on about 3 hours of conference calls every day.

I have both the Iphone 3GS (with IOS4) and Iphone 4, and have tested both the incoming and outgoing sound quality of both with my VTech DS6322 (DEC 6.0) bluetooth enabled home phone system, and there is no question that the 3GS is far clearer (but not great). The Iphone 4 outgoing is so muffled it is unusable. I can hear incoming calls quite clearly on both phones though. I have a kensington BT headset with mic and same problem. I had a motorola Q prior to the iphone 4 and it worked much better than either. Interestingly, my BMW handsfree works well with both phones, and no one has complained. I have updated from 4 to 4.01 and it makes no difference.

Check the BLUETOOTH HEADSET forum here in the Apple iPhone 4 Discussion forum and there are HUNDREDS of reports on this issue.

If you are having this issue PLEASE CALL APPLE and submit a report! The only way they can fix it is if people report the issue to them!

Please check out the Bluetooth forum and join together with others so that we can get this issue fixed!

Updated on BT Issue. Apple replaced my original Iphone 4 with a slighter newer production model of the Iphone 4 (same 4.01 firmware) and now my V-tech BT phone works much better. I can now use it with out the other person telling me they can't hear me or that I am muffled. I have a hunch the radio they use for the BT was slightly off frequency. I had also experienced connectivity problems with my car's BT handsfree system, which now seems to work. I have to try it for a while to make sure.
