Callers say my voice sounds muffled when using bluetooth.

I have a motorola bluetooth h710/h715 and as soon as I got the iphone 4, everyone is telling my I sound muffled when using it, compared to my 3gs. Anyone else have this issue?

My problem is not the same as yours. I take incoming calls just fine. Please don't hijack my request that someone test my case. I have been working with Apple and Jawbone to get to the bottom of this but right now we all need to know, can anyone take a call with their headset turned off and then mid-call, turn it on and make the switch without muffled voice quality.

As for the problem you are experiencing, I do not have that problem with my iPhone 4 and Jawbone Icon. My phone rings, I tap the Icon to take the call and it sounds fine.

Yesterday, myself & a Genius Bar Tech tested several BT headset brands & two iPhone 4s. We both witnessed that turning the BT headset from OFF to ON durning a call and then switching from phone to BT will cause poor sound quality 100% of the time. He simply said this will have to be something fixed in an a future update.

It's the OS, my Jawbone Icon was fine before the update. Then I figured it was the 3gs and the new IOS. Then to only discover that the disconnecting carried over with the IP4, only worse. Sound quality became worse and disconnecting, reconnecting is enough to not use it anymore. My motorola h780 is far worse, everyone tells me my voice is not good quality. So until then I am using the apple mic headset combo.

I have the same issue where people complain that they can barely hear a word I say. Typically, it is incoming call, although outgoing call can result in poor sound quality (i.e. they just can't hear me well).

It is 100% repro for me when I switch from iPhone to BT headset in the middle of conversation. I have tested this with both Jawbone ICON & Plantronics Discovery 925. I really hope the upcoming iOS4 update will fix BT issue for good

Re: Icon and iphone 4 - static white noise & muffled voice, poor A2DP volume
Here's my experience:

I got an ICON ACE on Sat. I logoned to MYTALK and updated the firmware. I installed Voicedial and A2DP.

Paired to iphone 4 with no issues.

I made 3 calls, all 3 people said I sounded muffled and distant. The incoming was perfect. they gave the headset a 3/10 and said return it.

Next I turned off the BT on my iphone 4 and called the same people and now it was working so well they could not believe it was the same headset and gave it an 7-8/10 as compared to my landline that was 10/10.

Not sure what to expect today.

I am having issues with A2DP not working everytime withe iPod function on the phone, Volume with headset set to max and iphone 4 max is marginal at best.

Clearly, an update from Apple , Jawbone or both is need to maximize performance
