slideshow will not play

When I try to play slideshow the screen goes blank for 1 second and then no slideshow happens. I've trashed com.apple.iPhoto.plist and also tried (launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed to rebuild the library. Select the last three options.) Still no Slideshow!
any other suggestions?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

I've had similar issues. I've discovered that if I'm working from EVENTS (under the Library on the left).. the slideshow just doesn't happen. But if I select the the pictures while I'm in PHOTOS everything works fine. Not sure if this is a solution or a work-around. But I thought I would pass it on..

Same issue on a Mac Mini, whenever i click on the slideshow icon, iphoto just sits there, if i change a selection on the left menu, screen fades to black for a second as if it was exiting from the slideshow. I have my mini hooked up to my Sony 54" tv, dont think that matters. I also have a MacBook Pro and no issue there whatsoever...

This is exactly what happend to me, this is what one can call a bug, but Apple does not seem to worry about it. I posted 2 topics, I talked with the so called expert at Apple Store Opera and I posted a feedback through iPhoto.
Any idea ?

I got Old Toad's fix to work. I have a Mac Mini running 10.6.5, 2.53Ghz core 2 Duo, 4GB. At first the fix did not work. Then I tried again, making sure to close Iphoto first, then delete the preference file, then reboot. When I followed this procedure, it worked like a charm.

Delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and try again.

Hello,

I have the same problem!!
i have allready delete the file com.apple.IPhoto.plist and didnt resolve the problem..
Does any one have more ideas???

Exactly the same problem here, just updated to iphoto 09, got the latest software updates from Apple and slideshow will not play, nor can I create any slideshows.
