I agree with getting back on topic, and I did get a response from Silverlight blaming Netflix. The reason is that I am not able to repeat this issue on any of the other website using Silverlight.
The official reply I got from Netflix after I forwarded the Silverlight email to them was that this is an Apple graphics card issue, since the incident can not be repeated with computers using a different graphic cards.
I have not received an official Apple Reply yet.
I wonder if the new 2011 MBPs have this issue. They have an ATI (?) discrete graphics card, but the same switching-without-logging-out capability as the mid-2010 models do.
I had this same issue with watching Netflix in Safari or Firefox, changed the system preferences as suggested and it has FINALLY fixed the issue! This has been driving me crazy, I've called Netflix (three times), Apple (twice), and Microsoft (once) who told me about this forum. I was ready to cancel my Netflix subscription. Thank you to the people who figured this out!!!!!
Thanks very much mattgilbertnet. Works perfectly now!!🙂
I use ff9 and it works great except when i go into full screen on netflix like some other people here. The picture flickers very fast and goes black after a short time. The quick work around for me is activate mission control or Expose by pressing the mission control button F3 twice on my macbook or my favourite, flicking my cursor up to the top right hand corner of screen twice where i have set up a hot corner in mission control for desktop.
Excellent!!! I unchecked the automatic graphics and am now able to view netflix in full screen view in Safari.
Thanks a million!
